We were all calling charles martin a joke because he was heavyweight champ due to glazkov getting injured, but cause its good old tony beating the pantomime villain haye its some sort of amazing performance? im not buying it, bellew would be wise to drop down to cruiser again.
Fair enough, green k'd as well.

I still can't believe it though, I never in my lifetime expected a match up like this to last more than 3. I was giving stick to Eddie Hearn in the build up calling him negligent & all sorts. Part of me being at amazed at Bellew is just me eating krow.

    • Crazy. Now they are saying Bellew broke his hand in the early rounds of the fight..

      Two gimps going to war.

The very same. Deontay "The Batty Windmiller" Wilder actually risked DQ there, as when Audley was on the floor, he fired eight shots at him.

(An example of how technically inept Wilder is/was can be gleaned from the fact that he was aiming at a stationary target and half the punches MISSED... he even nearly KO'd himself he was so wild).

Wilder's just a trinket holder IMO, really no better than, say, Joseph Parker.

Sure, as a hw champ, people SHOULD fight Wilder, but to suggest that people are ducking him...?

The guy brings little financially to the table, has a very limited fanbase, and his resume is almost non-existent.

Antony Joshua is very much on my "the jury's still out" list, but impresses me far more. What's striking is comparing their two resumes...... Joshua made his pro debut almost five YEARS after Wilder, and has had 20 less fights. Yet his resume, while far from stellar, is MUCH better than Wilder's. When the best fighter on your resume is Charlie Zelenoff, you know things are bad.

I hadn't actually realised that Deontay had been fighting for nearly a decade... he's so amateurish you'd think he only picked the sport up yesterday.

I'm not being a "bias Brit" here.... really, it's clear that these Green Teefs like their current crop of heavyweights and they're prepared to pay in big numbers to see them. And it's clear that Wilder couldn't sell out a "get Scarlett Johannson to suck your **** for $5" convention.

I think what I'm basically saying is, Deontay Wilder is ****.

Wilder started late, and all this time could have learned boxing. He would have done so much better if he did what a guy like Chisora did...lose, win, lose, win, get experience, fight the best you can. Wilder can punch but thats all he can do. Thats why when we consider EVEN a guy like Bellew one cannot say "well we have a legitimate heavyweight are ya kidding?" Wilder is vulnerable, lots of holes...does not matter the opponent when you are still fighting c level opposition.

Wilder has natural talent, he would be great as a prospect, but even if he gets lucky coming up, the first time a guy like Parker puts it together one will see a difference in class of fighter...

I have not even mentioned Joshua. Joshua has a lot of talent and a lot of ability and is doing what he should coming up. He needs to walk through an old Klitsko and claim the gold ring... As for Wilder? he will always have that punch... its a nice equalizer but its limited when one leaves C level.

Come on, be SERIOUS. Don't accuse people of swerving Wilder when the guy has built his entire career on cans.
Wilder has a slightly better resume, but both resumes are pathetic for a belt holder. So no point arguing which is worst.

Yeah good Fighters always hop around on 1 leg. Have you not seen karate kid movie?

I don't believe Haye done any sparring prior to this fight, he was simply doing pad/punch bag work, this is why he looked like a pub boxer.

5 years since his last competitive fight, surrounded by a bunch of idiots, a young trainer who was in awe of him, plus his body inside is damaged due to age and injuries.

Anyone who trains or is a boxer at any level, knows you have to prepare & train correctly but from what I gather, Haye has been obsessed with body conditioning, hence him looking like a greek god at the weigh-ins and feeling invincible because he's boxing like Ali against pads and a punch bag - that isn't how you prepare for a fight - especially after a lengthy absence from the ring.
