Regardless, it's traditional to give credit and show some humility. Plus, it's ****** tactics to criticise someone while asking them for a rematch at the same time. It doesn't endear him well to Ward who at the end of the day is in the driving seat.

How is kovelev asking? He's demanding and enforcing the rematch clause, that was signed in the first fight contract. Ward is pulling this Janet Jackson Diva sht about he's in control. You ward lams stop it already with lame excuses. Like above. There's been many of fighters in the past that have done the same thing Kovelev has done after a bad decision by bias judges. Start talking sht to get a rematch. You guys dont think Kovelev is pissed right now. He wants his hardware back asap. But it's ward so it's ok. Wtf.

brook was trying to get bigger fights and to fight someone he had been chasing for years. cant fault him for that. when the time came and he couldnt get those fights, he signed the mandatory. cant say brook is ducking anyone either, i dont know too many people who actively duck fights but go up 2 weight classes to fight ggg lol. that fight alone makes it hard for anyone to ever accuse brook of ducking.

when brook is actively looking for bigger fights you can't say he's ducking anyone. and even if you did he ended up taking the fight with spence so there's nothing for anyone to say.

now it's hard to say ward is ducking kovalev since he already fought him. but part of it is because most people though he lost. the other part of the problem is that he seemingly has absolutely nothing else going on and it looks like he's just sitting there and not willing to take the rematch. that fact that he says he would be fine with retiring right now combined with his recent 3-4 year history of doing nothing, it's hard for fans to just assume he's actively looking for other fights.

if ward considers himself the best as he's mentioned in the past then he has to take these fights. say what you will about floyd, but in fights where people said it was close or that he possibly lost, he took those rematches and dummied the other guy to prove he's better.

My point with that is, boxing has unfortunately become a laborious waiting game for match ups. This year has some of the best matches of the last decade that I can remember to start a year. But the belt organizations can place a deadline on negotiations and when they do, Ward will be forced to comply or be stripped. Speculation before any such deadline is enforced is not only premature but overly dramatic especially when understanding the gamesmanship that goes along with the promotional/ business side of our sport. However Ward did win and he'll dictate terms no matter what kov or salty fans think.

How is it the same Ward got 5 million and Kovelev got 2 mil and he was the champion. GGG is the 4 belt middle weight champ of course he's getting way more than Jacobs and besides the WBA rules mandate that 75-25 split for the Champion mandatory fight. Blaming GGG and his team for the WBA rules, lame ass comparisons. Boxing fans on this sight know the difference stop spinning bull sheeeet.
