So Stiverne declines to participate in the final eliminator against Luis Ortiz and instead of being stripped of his ranking they give him a title shot.
For the betterment of the sport, the WBC should have just given Ortiz the #1 contender spot. No one was going to complain about Stiverne being jibbed.
Wilders fans will be delighted once again he can avoid a threat at the top of the division. What a terrible match the Wilder gravy train avoiding all risk continues. Ivica Perkovic might be next after Stiverne. Someone just feed him to AJ or Ortiz or half a dozen others for that matter so we can pretend like he never existed and see him fade into obscurity with his Alabama fake gangster goon squad.
Not a really interesting fight Stiverne is still the same guy who is made to order for Wilder and I highly doubt he is of a better vintage now than a few years ago when the first fight went down.
At least it gives Wilder something to do and gets his mandatory out of the way.
There is really no reason Stiverne should have that status handed to him though, if he hadn't already been beaten badly perhaps but basically losing a whole fight to a guy you should have to really earn a mandatory rematch.

How is this Wilders fault and what should you have him do? Surrender his title?
