I can't blame the fighters anymore.....It's a division void of talent. But I do blame the promoters for milking it. At least boring assed Alas had some skills and fought the best. This division keeps getting worse and worse.
All a matter of perspective. Personally, I believe humans evolve much quicker than most people realize and the best in the world of pretty much any sport in 2017 would destroy the best in the world from 1997. So I don't think it's a question of the division being devoid of talent. AJ & Wilder clearly have talent and if they keep winning, they'll be heading towards a massive showdown.

The problem is the four belt era has made things so difficult to follow and has made ducking fighters so easy that the public stops caring. Not to mention everybody knew the two best fighters in the world were Vitali Klitschko & Wladimir Klitschko, who refused to fight each other. Why follow a sport when the two best are never going to face each other.

But if AJ can take care of Klitschko, and we move forward into the post Klitschko era, we have several undefeated champions, all of whom truly want to unify. So I do think the division is improving.

WBC/WBO champion Wilder vs WBA/IBF champion Joshua, undefeated vs undefeated, to crown the first undisputed champion since 1999 and the first grand slam champion ever is such a massive fight it's not even funny.

So I'm very optimistic about the heavyweight division right now.

FACT: Wilder has the best win of any current heavyweight champion.

FACT: Wilder is the longest reigning heavyweight champion.

FACT: His title has the longest unbroken lineage.

FACT: AJ's best defense was against a guy Wilder already defended against and knocked out.

FACT: Wilder flew to Moscow to defend against the current TBRB #1.

FACT: Wilder is negotiating to unify in his next fight after Washington.
Ive never read so many turd facts to defend a hw champ so frightened that there is not one top 10 guy on his resume all these many fights into his career. One day they will make a film about this True American Coward.

The facts don't support your position though. Wilder has the best win of any current heavyweight champion. So any criticism you have, you should be applying to the others as well, and more. The fact that you focus on Wilder is a #doublestandard.

If he's a coward, why did he agree to go to Moscow to defend against the #1 in the world?

The facts don't support your position.

He isn't looking for the 'right' foes. He's running from them as fast as he can. Talks more b.s. than a shady used car salesman with a bad combover, Ban-Lon slacks, white shoes, matching white belt.

              LOL
Why can't his team (him included) play the risk/reward game like every other fighter does? Especially in a thin division...This cat ain't running from nobody, Ortiz included.

There's absolutely no way Joshua vs. Wilder makes more money in America than in the UK. Wilder should come to London and KTFO Dillian Whyte, get his name out there, and then unification vs. AJ in Wembley will be absolutely massive

In a single fight yeah i agree. But the financial upside of Joshua getting his name out there in the US could be huge. For that reason i think they would go to the US to make the fight.

This could be his only chance to fight a highly rated US title holder in his whole career (potentially). He might not get another chance to really introduce himself over there

I dont think he will cross over as well over there as he has over here, but a 360mill (or w/e it is) person marketplace is a good place to be known in.

Let's be honest, even on regular Showtime it'll be lucky to break 1m viewers right now. He's never going to be PPV over there so his US fights would principally be financed by TV licensing fees, and they aren't paying more than about $3m for boxing in the current climate

However, if it's just a sort of bucket list thing for him to have a big fight in America then I can understand that
