Canelo needs to shut up about up Golovkin until he is ready to fight him next for a reasonable percentage of the purse. He's been stalling, talking, and breaking promises for over a year now. Even his own Mexican fan base are sick of hearing this bullshit.

The same was said with Manny when he turned down his "biggest" payday initially to fight Floyd for a $40 Mill flat fee. When they ACTUALLY sat and negotiated and after all the revenue splits he made just over $100 Mill. The same will happen here. They're clearly prolonging the fight. Canelo inevitably will get the bigger split naturally and GGG will get a career payday with the smaller share. We've already seen the circus come to town before.

Whether intentionally or not, you're missing my question. Why did Canelo choose Smith? You claim titles are irrelevant, but the only reason I can see for Canelo wanting Smith (other than ducking Charlos, Lara, and them, see other thread), is for Smith's title. The title makes Smith relevant, and Canelo choosing Smith shows the title is relevant (to Canelo).

And it's like you said, Manny BECAME bigger than the title. He didn't start that way. The titles made Manny the star.

Pacquiao was making 20-30 mil a fight when he was offered $40 mil. Golovkin is making 2-3 and offered $15 mil. How is that even close to being the same.

And is Canelo ready to fight Golovkin now?

Because if he isn't, then you accusing GGG of ducking him is absurd. Golovkin has Canelo's WBC MW belt, and nobody ever took a champion's belt away by ducking him.

This is my problem with this.. Fans can make a claim that X is a good payday he should take it etc but if there is more to be had than our lack of boxing business knowledge we turn a blind eye to it.. In history to get a fight made even the A-side have shelled out more money(e.g. Wlad-Haye).. So Canelo can have his 15mil & GGG can move up in weight & fight other legit champs & I'll be fine with it..

Yes,but Canelo allready made "IT",his on this level when he dont need them anymore,Title was to add prestige too Smith cuse his nobody, not for Canelo ,his vacating it now.Big fights generaly have tittle in them cuse 2 grat fighter from same devision almost allways have some tittle on them ,Canelo is the ring MW champ ,GGG have belts etc.Canelo vs GGG would be big with out them too, lets say GGG vacates tittles and go fight Canelo to 154 or 155 ,its as huge as with titles. If Canelo want MW title he can pay BJS its not a problem.

mayweather gave into everything with dlh. i dont remember manny *****ing about money when he signed vs barrera.

GGG is 35 already and by his own words, kell brook from 2 weight classes below is the best fighter he ever faced.

time for GGG to suck it up and make the fight.

Canelo has already fought mayweather, cotto, lara, trout, mosley ect. Of course he demands more purse, he has more fans and has fought big names. He is almost 10 years younger than GGG and look at the difference in their resumes.

The difference in what Manny and GGG make is irrelevant to the point. On top of that, GGG makes more than his guarantee ($2 Mill) with his endorsements ala Canelo who also only pockets a $5 mill guarantee before his own endorsements / International TV rights. Canelo vs GGG is potentially a $100 fight and Canelo will get the obvious bigger share but GGG will be given the smaller split and Oscar and team know that. All this is just posturing from Canelo.
