          So what?

Leonard was 160, so his MW lineal status was on the line.

Right now you're arguing that Leonard (who fought at 160lbs 2x) wasn't considered a MW, but Canelo who fought at 155lbs 2x was.............

Using the Tom Cruise MW title, and the Tom Cruise rankings, this is indeed a MW title fight.

Canelo is not a MW. He hasnt defended his belt vs a top 15 contender in over a year and has been stripped.

GGG is no.1 ranked. Jacobs is no.2 ranked.

            Bingo.

Its not a lineal title fight though. That is still with Canelo. Lineal is not the be all and end all and doesnt always signify the true champion

Golovkin fans changing the rules of boxing once again.

The fights were contracted above 160, they weren't MW fights.

What i learned from Golovkin fans in this thread.

Lineal means nothing because they don't agree.
                    Unified means Undisputed.
                    Lineal is mythical.
Canelo is stripped even though that's against the point of lineal.
Fights over 160 are MW fights.

Leonard was the WBC Super Middleweight Champion, and Hearns was the WBC No. 1-ranked super middleweight contender. Hearns was also the WBO Super Middleweight Champion, but his title was not at stake. Leonard refused to have anything to do with the WBO due to its involvement with fighters from apartheid South Africa.
Leonard dictated the terms of the rematch, including a reported clause that carried big financial penalties if either fighter weighed more than 164 pounds at the official weigh-in.

but it was middleweight fight??? man you cant make this **** up
