GGG v. Jacobs is for THE MW title

Since Canelo won the "Middleweight" title he has:

    1) defended v. a WW at Jr. CaneloWeight
    2) won a strap at Jr. MW
    3) and will fight at Jr. Cheeseburger Weight

all the while claiming he's not a real MW
I dont care what the lineal purists & the Ring say, he's vacated
GGG & Jacobs are #1 & #2. This is legit for the MW title

I'm tired of the MW title becoming the "Super Junior MW title"
The last time someone 158 lbs or heavier was given a shot at the MW title was April 2013 - so more about 4.5 years - or more if Canelo continues ducking.

IMO, this is for the MW title

No it's not for the "Lineal" title. The rules don't change for Golovkin. He's had enough titles given to him. He can fight for the Lineal title in September by accepting the very generous $15 mil offer.

According to the purist's, Canelo will retain Bernard's lineal title until he loses at 160.

Of course Bernard started 'his' lineal title when he unified the the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, something Gololvkin's already accomplished.

Unifying has nothing to do with lineal. In fact the whole point of lineal is because fans didn't agree with fighters losing titles out of ring. You know like how they stripped Canelo and gave the title to Golovkin?

          lineal, schmineal

Canelo is the "lineal" champ, for all thats worth. So how long does Canelo get to avoid 160 in general & GGG in particular. The Ring policy is 18 months (no fight in weight class).

          Ive already vacated him.

Canelo was stripped bc he ducked his mandatory. GGG won that belt, but who cares. The WBC belt means even less than lineal. Its who you beat, your resume.

And note that I dont consider GGG THE Champ at MW YET. He hasnt earned it yet. Resume isnt strong enough. But GGG & Jacobs are #1 & #2. The winner is THE MAN at MW.

I agree, its pathetic holding a lineal title hostage (almost as bad as bjs).

BUT, come the 21st of May... it will be 18 months since conela fought in mw division, and ring belt stipulates one of the seven reasons you can lose your title is...

'The Champion does not schedule a fight at his championship weight for 18 months'

Given that Jacobs (#2 rated by ring) is fighting GGG (#1 rated by ring), we SHOULD have a new lineal mw title holder on this date.

The undisputed and lineal middleweight champion has a nice 'ring' to it.

On a footnote: The alphabet org's should lower their sanctioning fees for unified champs so the boxers don't have to pay multiple fees and entice them to unify. That's in the fans and boxings best intrest and not their own, so i doubt it'll happen.

Doesn't matter if they're 1 & 2 when there's already a champ. You can invent your own little fantasy world with Golovkin as champ, that's fine. In the real world Canelo will still be recognised as the MW champ.

Lineal and Ring title aren't the same and the Khan fight was officially at MW. Try again.

Lineal MW title has been highjacked by JMWs

How did Canelo win lineal. By beating Cotto at 155. Now I respect Cotto alot, but he really started this Super Jr. MW title BS.

Beat a gimpy Maravilla, waited a year and defended at 157 (against Geale, a legit MW), then fought Canelo at CaneloWeight.

Actual MWs have been denied the opportunity at the belt since April 2013 - last time it was fought at 160. Thats BS, and not fair to MWs who cant squeeze down to 155.

There's a 154 lb division. If thats where you want to fight, go there. A catchweight once in awhile is fine. But this is ridiculous

Golovkin has an offer for a chance to fight for it at 160. Up to him to accept it.
