Because he is twice as good a fighter as the usual Wilder cherry pick title defense. He hasn't lost a fight and boxrec ranks him 20th instead of 40th as where most of his title challengers are ranked. Also he is a fighter we have all heard of instead of an unknown guy from Europe.
