I don't care if he becomes a star or not. All I know is that he's got arguably the two best P4P fighters in the world fighting a division below and a division above him respectively. If not for inactivity, Mikey would be a consensus P4P guy himself. I know there's a lot of politricks involved in making a fight with with either of those guys. I just hope we can see him in with one of those guys sooner rather than later. Boxing needs superfights. Him against either guy is a superfight.

I was talking about Mikey either moving up to 40 to fight Crawford. Or, Lomachenko moving up to 35 to fight him.
That said, I don't think 35 is weak. Linares currently has The Ring mag title. He's of the more physically talented guys I've ever seen. But he's never seemed to be able to breakthrough to the next level. Whether it be weak skin, suspect beard, or whatever. He always seems to come up short on fulfilling what seems like awesome potential.
You've got a couple undefeated beltholders in Flanagan and Easter than IMO are a couple levels below Mikey. Those would be semi-intriguing fights. He would almost certainly have to go overseas to get Flanagan. And Easter is still in that prospect/contender stage of his career. Don't know how much beating either does for Mikey, who's trying to make up for lost time.
Then you have an intriguing prospect in Verdejo. Who's at least 18 months from being an interesting opponent for Mikey.
All in all, 35 is a solid division that Mikey could settle in and make some decent match-ups. But like most top fighters, he's probably gonna need to look outside of his division to make the biggest fights.Comment

I don't see Garcia beating Easter at all.I was talking about Mikey either moving up to 40 to fight Crawford. Or, Lomachenko moving up to 35 to fight him.
