For the same reason that Arum is trying to get Loma vs. Salido II, Salido sells! Salido is never in a bad fight! Now that Vargas was destroyed last night, Salido might want to rematch Loma or Garcia. I say Garcia would bring more money! I don't think Salido would be the best choice (actually Pacquiao would be the best) but again, Salido brings action, and action sells tickets!

If they build him up right he absolutely can. He has the skills for it as well as the potential Mexican fan base.

I think he's got potential, like anyone on a high level, Mexican & in the US right now has to one degree or another. Idk that I can see it doe.

He's not the most engaging guy. He doesn't have those movie star looks of Canelo...no ****. Mikey looks like Mr. Potato Head in human form ffs. He's like Manny Pacquiao but with less charm, less passion & a less appealing style of fighting. And take those things away from Manny & idk that Manny would have become the PPV superstar he became either.

I disagree he fights at the smaller weights which typically don't produce ppv stars and he doesn't have a really dynamic personality or anything flashy in how he fights to standout. People saying if he beats Crawford that will do it but Crawford ain't no ppv star either nobody bought his unification showdown with postol. Plus Crawford is trying to move up to 147 to get a bigger name to boost his own appeal and I don't see Garcia moving up in time before that. I think he'll always be a weight class or 2 behind crawford. Biggest fights for Mikey are linares, lomachenko.

Thing is yes he's Mexican but there are tons of Mexican fighters at and around his weight that have a bigger fan base then him. There were a lot of empty seats for his fight last night. Mexicans didn't even show up early to catch his fight or catch the entirety of it. His TV ratings so far haven't been all that either, we'll see later this week how this did. But I just don't get the feeling there is a huge backing for him compared to other Mexicans with bigger personalities and who are in wars. He's a greater fight but you need a lot of things to come together to become a ppv star especially if you fighting under 147.

100% agree. If Mikey ever reaches 1M+ in PPV buys he'll need to be doing it at 147+lbs. He can break his PPV cherry below 147 like Floyd, Manny & Oscar did (who are all on the Mt Rushmore of Boxing PPV with Tyson), but he won't do superstar numbers til he gets bigger, assuming he can achieve big things 2 more weight divisions up which is always a big ask of a boxer.

I think he can do well, he has a nice style and the right kind of ethnic background to do well. To be the guy I don't know about that it is possible I guess but he an certainly create a nice little niche.

He got a better potential to become PPV star than Canelo. He got Mexican fanbase that loyal to their fighters, better skillset than Canelo, he's well spoken and Canelo don't speak English, he just doesn't have the looks

You an idiot canelo is already the biggest ppv star in boxing and when he was fighting on the undercard of fights in Vegas Mexicans and fans were filling up the joint to see his fights. A lot of fans didn't even show up early to catch Mikey fight last night. A ton showed up halfway or after just to catch the main event. He doesn't have anywhere near the fan base canelo had before he started headlining. Hoping he can break through and get a couple ppvs but he will never reach the level canelo is at he is too small and doesn't have the must see factor canelo had from day 1.
