Mikey could go down to 130 to make it more fair, but honestly once loma grows into 135 i would favor him despite how incredible garcia looks. He just doesnt have a high enough workrate to be able too land enough punches with lomas superb defense. This will be the biggest fight in boxing in a couple years. Mikey was dumb for leaving top rank, he would be a ppv star right now as we speak but instead hes on undercards

Mikey should take on Linares and Loma before moving up and facing Broner and Crawford. He may not win all those fights but they are all mega bouts between genuinely sublime fighters

Lol no, that would be Canelo. I'm not a Canelo fan at all, but he has way more qualities than Mikey. He's 3 years younger, more accomplished, bigger draw, better looking etc.

Mikey is a very good boxer, but that's all he is. It's not like he was lighting it up on HBO before he left and it's not like his Showtime ratings are any good either.

He's a good compliment on an undercard like he was tonight. But as a PPV headliner? No way.

Canelo (and his Brothers) assaulted flyweight Archie solis over a woman...breaking his jaw in several places and basically ending his career

          Respectful and classy

          Oscar...is a basket case....from raping a 15 y/o girl in mexico...to abusing drugs....dressing like a woman...and getting pegged in the ass by strippers

          Classy and Sassy
Those things are not what made them famous though. That is where the difference lies. A black fighter with the personality of Canelo or Oscar would not be a star. To be a star within the black community you need to act ignorant, throw money around and talk trash. Maybe throw money at a few strippers and get into fights. Real classy

The era of PPV "STARS" over, with Canelo being the only exception until he loses. There will still be PPV fights in the future, but they will have to be super fights. That how this business started. People paid only for exceptional fights that had rare cultural significance or had a huge rock status fan base. Then people were fed fights on PPV with stars fighting second tier fighters. People are not accepting that model. That is why PPV attendance is dropping. People are not going to pay for stars fighting stiffs, or in some cases for stars fighting other stars. That is why the Thurman and Garcia fight is not on PPV.

Canelo has a circus model for his PPV status. He has great undercards and good promoting. I don't think any one fighter or single fight will pull huge numbers.

The ONLY reason Canelo is a star is because he looks white.

If he looked like the average mestizo he'd be fighting in a bullring somewhere.

Truth be told Canelito isn't that big of a star.

PPV is dead. Promoters and networks are not making record profits, especially when fighters are too greedy. Ask Espinoza.

And why is Schafer mentioning PPV when his new home, PBC, is trying to set example?
