Theres an old saying in real estate: something to the effect of, one can always make an offer...

I you are naive enough to believe that Roc Nation has the mentality "Ward obviously wants a purse that is to much so we will not discuss the rematch", then I have a few bridges to sell you. It just does not work that way. Ill tell you why: if I am an exexutive over there and discuss a rematch one thing will become apparent: the degree of interest in the fight. If I choose never to discuss it...what if it turns out every one and grandma want to see the rematch? Ill never know will I?

Roc Nation knows the interest/lack of interest in this fight. They have a real good feel for whether it is worth to promote this fight, or not. The truth is, Ward's demands are not even that instrumental if this fight sells. If the fight does not sell then likewise...Ward does not even matter.

people are idiots. They are chasing a red herring down the river. Who really thinks paying ward millions matters in a fight that generates a lot of interest? Ward could fight for free! 5 to 10 million is peanuts. The real issue is the total revenue this fight generates, not Ward's, or Kovalev's nut!

I guarantee you this fight hinges on bigger issues that Ward's take home. Ward, naturally wants to pull what he can, and who can blame him? If he is smart he knows that these guys could not care less about a few million here or there. Ward is nothing but a scape goat for the fact that players like Roc Nation do not know fvk all about promoting fights. let Duva get off her hump and promote, generate interest in this fight instead of scape goat Ward.

What people should be asking is how to get this fight hooked up, and generating. How to get Latino fans in the mix...perhaps with a latino Oakland in the hood undercard? etc. there is a reason why promoting fights is best left to sociopaths, murderers, and very smart lawyers....this is not a game for children.

JZ is getting the cold shoulder from his accountants, they are telling him he is losing a lot of money. Ward is not going to have a lot of guys to fight after this rematch either. You need Oyama or count Dante to walk down state street and tell people he is going to karate chop a bull's horn off! something to get people wanting to see this fight.

Regarding Andre, he doesn't deserve any criticism at this stage. The fight was only a few months ago.
Im exxagerating to make the case for Ward. There is no question in my mind that Ward making an extra million or three, has nothing to do with whether this fight gets made. I just made a long post about it,(see above) but bottom line, the interest, lack of interest in this fight, the ability to promote it, etc are large issues that have little to do with scapegoating Ward. Ward also better grab what he can because there are a limit to where he can go after this fight.

Ward reached Mayweather status when he beat Froch and Kov, ok...if he retired now, most would be fine with it. He's owed a well deserved rest.

Agreed. And to not do so is not a good way to call time on a career.

However I think "coward" is a little strong!

What you all gunna say when ward wins again?
they still wont give him credit. they said ward ducked the first time then he fought and won and still gets no respect. same will happen again.

If he doesn't give Kovalev the much deserved rematch, he will never live that down and rightfully so.

However, I won't pass judgment until I hear something official. It's only January and at the rate fights get made these days, it's very normal unfortunately. Oh the days of Robinson and LaMotta must have been sweet.

                    LOL.

Yeah, six fights inside of five years...man. How does he keep up a pace like that? Duran, Chavez and Robinson were such wimps.

Those really are better wins than anything on Golovkin's resume.
