I thought Al Haymon and PBC were the anti-PPV model? smh...

Besides Davis will have to beat a Mexican star and there isnt any near his weight class, closest is Mikey Garcia but I think Garcias future is pre-written and Davis is no where in that script.

People have short term memories. Tank didn't look all that good in his previous fight and let's not act as if Pedrasa wasn't the weakest champion in the division. He has a long ways to go and he really needs to work on his defense hen got hit a lot in that fight and he doesn't have the best stamina.

His feet were horrible, infact pretty much non existent. He literally stood in the same spot after throwing a combo, Tank capitalized on those counter punches.

this ^^^^ Jose was a paper champ won a vacant belt and was hands down the worst and least ranked title holder. Also got whooped his fight with Cherry where most felt it was a robbery and that Jose lost. Good win for Davis but he's no where near the top fighter in that weight and would get schooled and destroyed by Loma who his people are already admitting they will duck and avoid. As for his defense which people were claiming as a strength and even comparing him to Pretty Boy Floyd hell no. His fight with Jose ended early in the 7th yet he was hit over 110 times. When have you seen floyd in a half a fight get hit over a 100 times and get his face marked up like that? against a paper champ who hasn't beaten anybody no less. Good win, I rooted for him because Jose shouldn't of had a belt in the first place cherry, a journeyman beat him. But stop hyping this kid up. Beat some of the other real champs in your weight then we can talk. Broner was more impressive at this same stage and he never made it to PPV Star.

Davis has flash, is entertaining both in the ring and on the microphone, yeah he has the makings of a PPV headliner. His size is going to deter some fans, but if he continues to win in fun fashion, the sky's the limit.

Of course, every year there are guys who come onto the scene in a flashy way, think they are going to be the next A-lister, and then lose or fade into obscurity again. Boxing fans have proven time and again to be fickle. BUT he has a lot of eyes on him right now, so this is his opportunity to seize the moment. Good luck to him.

Cmon man you understand business. If PBC hasn't worked & plenty of guys have been saying it failed before they even have their first fight let alone guys who've stacked on in recent times then shouldn't they pivot to a new idea or concept that could include PPV?

Thats how business works. You come up with an idea. It works & you make money or it doesn't & you pivot your idea into something that does make money.

I don't understand when people think you stick with an idea in light of evidence against that idea. Flip flopping is great for business & logic despite its bad rep in politics.

And thats not to say PBC hasn't worked cuz I don't have all the details, but in light of the discovery of the GBP vs PBC trial I've seen & heard about it seems like things did not go the way PBC wanted them to go from very early on & they aren't as oblivious as people think or wanna believe.

As long as he doesn't go the Tito Trinidad route

He didn't fight another Champion for SEVEN years.
