Very good post.Well he just demolished a top contender at the age of 22 so he is on the right track. To be a PPV star you also need to beat elite opponents though and it may be a while before we learn that he can do that.
Floyd beat Corrales at the age of 24. Manny beat Barrera at the same age. Oscar was 24 when he beat Whitaker.
The three big contributors to PPV stardom are looking great against sub-elite competition, getting the W when you face the elites, and building off the star power of others.
We'll see in time if Davis has got this in him.Comment

Would make it even more impressive if he could pull it off though. Power midget ko'ing WW's
Be like Yoda fight scene from one of the star wars prequels
Looking at boxrec he is actually similar dimension wise to manny pac (height and reach).
He maybe just looked smaller next to the beanpole PEdraza. I remember manny being a decent sized SFW.Comment

Idk about that. He's got a long ass road to becoming that that'll include needing to move up to divisions fans care about more cuz idk that there is many big PPV fights in boxing history at or below 130lbs. Good luck to him doe.
And its hard to become a PPV star. Only 9 guys (Floyd, Tyson, Manny, Lennox, ODLH, JMM, Holyfield, Mosley & Cotto) have had 2 or more fights selling 1M+ PPV's. People love to act like selling 1M is easy & standard for name guys or you're a huge failure or boxing is dying if you don't sell 1M+, but its not & those who've done it more than once is a very exclusive club.Comment
