If he offered GGG a fight and G took it at 165 you'd be calling him a fxcking *****, coward etc, etc... etc...
AND you'd have reason to say it BUTTTT Golovkin isn't fighting him he is fighting someone who is coming in on hot form so I've really got to laugh at the thread saying he "exposed" GG.

my thoughts exactly. Mock GGG, mock half decent fans, let the trolls have some fun.

God knows there is basically no holds barred when it comes to him and Arum so that is entirely possible.

My point is the 12M was conditional on JCC doing something he simply wasn't going to do. Whether the 40M was real or not, what was clear is that JCC jr had had enough of Flappy Bob.

And don't forget, JCC jr isnt your typical fighter. Because of his Dad, he was never going to be forced into anything due to financial considerations.

Can't call it a wrong choice when it is about the fighter's wishes first.

And, he is fighting Canelo now.
I dunno, seems like a 1 fight extension for 5m is the right choice financially. Has he even made 5m total in the 3 years since? He could have fought Canelo anyway but with more leverage, better split if he wasn't so irrelevant.

Other thing is, nobody in boxing got better promoter treatment than this guy. They built him up perfectly, top matchmaking, Latin Fury Ppv, belt via weakest link, made him look halfway credible, put up with all his weight bull**** and poor efforts. But when it's time to fight GGG for big money he develops a promotional conflict and goes off to make peanuts and ruin his career

I think the rift was there before any talk of Lil g.

Arum rips off some of his fighters, no doubt and maybe Jr felt he was one of them.

It was at least a 2 fight extension (on top of the one he may or may not have had remaining?). It was either do the 2 fights for 12 to 17 million or one fight for 2 million.

That is why he was able to say to hell with it. In his eyes he was only giving up a 2M payday to be done with Arum.

They said clearly that they wanted a fight at 160 (in this case 165), to get used to fighting bigger guys. He wasn't going to rush to fight Golovkin in his first fight at a higher weight.

              It's really not complicated.

It was GGG + 1 more fight, for 12 or 17m. Done with TR by the time he fought Fonfara. Great deal, unless he wanted to avoid GGG altogether. But getting smashed by him >> by Fonfara. More glory, more money
