Close fight that could have gone either way. I scored it for Kov on the HBO telecast, than Ward on the video from the seats. A rematch is warranted and should happen.

I definitely agree with your non-swing rounds. I thought Ward at least won one of 3-4, as well as 12, giving me 7 Ward rounds. But those rounds weren't clear wins by any means so it's possible to have a defendable Kovalev card.

          my card

          Ward : 3,5,7,8,9,11 & 12
          Kovalev : 1,2,4,6,10

115-113 minus 1pt for the KD makes it 114-113.

some rounds were so close I gave the edge to a guy that landed one or two more punches. I don't do even rounds because judges never do that.

all judges gave Ward round 10.. I disagree

Lederman gave Kovalev round 9, one of the easiest Ward rounds to give him.

round 12 Ward was hurt by a body shot but Kovalev didn't follow up. Ward finished the round with 3-4 hard body shots of his own.

definitely a close fight, Kovalev always has that equalizer and that's what made it suspenseful.

ward won every round but one. 11-1 ward. you simply dont understand boxing. kovalev is just a power puncher. who cares that he landed more. he was outboxed plain and simple.

I scored it wide for Kovalev but with repeat views I'm willing to make it a closer fight.

                Sergey won regardless.

                And there's a contractual rematch.

Had Kov up by a couple points but he had to know that wasn't enough after the Perez-Hooker decision and it was very foolish trying to coast to a points win after the knockdown. He handed it away via lack of aggression.

When most of the boxing media disagreed and there's a contractual rematch before the fighters can do anything else and anonymous forum guy declares it "over"... lol

Welp nothing to see here I guess

Dude it was the closest, most hotly disputed big fight in recent memory.

There needs to be a rematch point blank period.
