Thing is most actually have probably seen Wawrzyk fight and remember him for getting blasted senseless by Povetkin in a fight that proved to be as much of a mismatch as people anticipated even back then when Wawrzyk wasn't exactly lighting the place up against British journeyman types.

He has almost 40 fights and umpteen defenses of his title and has only fought one guy ranked in the top 10 and most like a literal 30 not even in the top 30-40.

Given his injuries I think he is allowed somewhat of a soft touch but Wawrzyk is a disgraceful choice. Sorry it just is. Type of opponent AJ was bombing out in his 6th, 7th pro fight really.
His best win is probably like Sosnowski who was only mildly relevant going on 8yrs back and even then he was a far cry from world level.
Joke of an opponent at the very minimum they could of brought in a Takam, Fedosov, Helenius type
