I thought Hatton won and it was a fun fight.

    Juicy, stop with your excuses.

Everyone is overlooking the fact that Floyd moved up against 140 lbers, who had recently moved up, small welters.

Hatton tried to move up against not only a slick soutpaw, but a fighter who is naturally much larger, and who has weighed in at jr middleweight limits for fights, and many times above 147 at catchweights... just look at his record. So essentially you had a jr welter facing a jr middle. And Hatton still won, fair and square, but yeah he looked a little sluggish carrying the extra weight and bothered by the reach and defensive style of Collazo.

And even so, Hatton still won, still matched him strength-wise very well, and had very good stamina. I think if you saw Hatton in with Judah or Mitchell, then you'd have seen him stop both of them late in the fight. Floyd picked them because they were taylor-made for him, and he's avoiding Margarito because Margarito is a large welter who could rough him up. Hatton took on a large welter in his first move up, and a slick defensive southpaw as a bonus. So cut him a little slack.

But yes, I think Hatton should fight at 140. His strength is monsterous at 140, no reason for him to struggle against large welters chasing Floyd because Floyd isn't fighting them either. I'd say Hatton should either look to the winner of Gatti/Baldomir or move back to 140 and look to fight the winner of Corrales/Castillo. But he should stay away from the large, natural welters like Collazo. There's just no reason for it when he can make 140 easily.

The little respect I had for you just went out the window with that dumb comment below. Truly. If he's a paper champ what did he do to englands hype?

Quite honestly, this fight is ridiculous. Hatton was weighing 160 on the night according to Billy Graham, there is no way he could of moved anywhere near as sharp as he usually does (he usually weighs 152-154 on the night) and clearly doesn't - it's almost hideous. Hatton looks slow, sloppy, and laughable. He put on unneccasary weight, it was a silly mistake to move up to 147. He should of let Mayweather come back down (remember that Mayweather had to start using weights for the first time ever to build his body up towards 140, whereas Hatton has always used weights since he was a kid).

If Hatton has an ounce of sense, he won't ever fight at 147 again. He makes 140 comfortably, absolutely no problem at all. Infact, he often had to eat up to seven meals a day to keep the weight on when aiming for 140.

This fight is a laughing stock. I don't think Hatton could show much because he probably could barely climb off his stool between rounds - he was that much like a useless lump of lard in there, and it was Obviously due to carrying the extra weight (and shaken up by the naturally heavier punches than what he's used to - struggling for concentration in there because of the heavier punches). The whole fight Hatton literally just walked straight in, threw a few sloppy shots and then clinched.. it was laughable (seeing as this was RICKY HATTON). All Hatton could show really was that he had a rock-solid chin and determination.

Collazo isn't world-class, IMO, he was a paper champion. Sure, his hands looked a little quick at times here and there.. but he wasn't all that effective against such a useless lump of lard. Any world-class, natural 147lber would of beaten Hatton easily last night. Collazo didn't impress me much, really, he just couldn't take advantage enough of Hatton being over-heavy for his structure and Hatton desperately lacking any sharpness.

Well, I think Collazo is world-class. He looked pretty good in there, and took a lot of rough inside work from Hatton. I think his naturally larger size and reach helped him immensely, but I was impressed with Collazo nevertheless, even though he lost to a smaller guy trying to move up. Hatton showed how strong he is muscling Collazo around, a guy who's fought at the 154 limit.

But OF COURSE Collazo is a paper champ. There's no debating that. Hatton is the champ at 140, but a mere titlist at 147. There's only one champ per division and at welter it's Baldomir. Everyone else is a titlist (or paper champ, whichever term you prefer). The same way Floyd was never a champ at 140 or 147. Just paper. It's not a slight, necessarily, just a fact.

Before Hatton fought Saturday night I had credibility towards the guy being able to compete at a top level. Now I think Cotto, Gatti and definately Mayweather can stop this guy in his tracks. Half of his face looked a mess against a non puncher imagine with guys that have power.

Collazo is a full WELTERWEIGHT (who fought at 156 as an amateur!), you idiot.
