The Cotto Canelo fight was a very close fight and he was never "humiliated" in that fight. They both had their moments but Canelo was too big for Cotto. The Trout fight was an "off night" type of fight for Cotto or maybe he underestimated him. Maybe he is using this fight to gauge his current status and if he wins go for one more risk fight before hanging his gloves. Cotto may not have one all of his important fights but we all have to tip our hats to him for fighting all the big names during their prime. I don't blame him for not taking on GGG as he is too big and the money was with the Canelo fight. Kirkland is the right fight for him at this present time....

Cotto was never much in either the Canelo or the Trout fight.

As far as adding to Cotto's legacy, only Pacquiao rematch, Marquez, Canelo rematch, or GGG would really do that right now. Cotto is already a HOF and has no titles to hinder the young ones from establishing a name for themselves, although he could enhance their profiles by fighting them... I don't know. Cotto isn't a big ducker, so if the logistics make sense, I don't know why he would turn those down. Brook would probably only net more money if it was in the UK. charlo still isn't a big name. I can't explain why Bradley didn't happen. It should have. That's the fight I wanted to see...

Cotto isn't the ducker Floydie is, that's for certain. And even with both Bradley and Cotto on the down side, agreed it would be a great matchup.

I'm not sure how Kirkland can be considered a good opponent. He's not even that good for a start. Secondly he's not even an active fighter, nobody even remembered he existed anymore until this fight was mentioned. Not to mention the last time fought he got knocked out badly.

I did always feel Kirkland is probably the kind of fighter that could cause an upset to some big name fighters in his career due to his style, but only if he stayed active, which he didn't. He's done.

Kirkland must have thought he won the lottery landing the Canelo fight. He must truly believe in god for doing nothing and landing another jackpot with this fight.

I agree, the last time we saw Kirkland he came out in Rd 1 with legs so stiff he looked like a stork, I thought a jab would KO him. Ann Wolf will probably give him a heart attack in training, she is relentless. (He should retire now)

You read the rest of my post, you're just not smart enough to respond to it because you know I'm right. As far as resume, resume is who you've faced, not just who you've beaten. How many fighters today have faced better comp than cotto? As far as who he's beaten, I'd say his 3 best wins are mosley, Margarito rematch and Martinez. If you want to discredit those wins then fine, I can discredit any of canelos wins as well. Trout - out landed Canelo but Canelo got the win thanks to Texas judges, Lara schooled Canelo, Outland en him but again, shady judging. Cotto- 10 yrs older than Canelo and 20 pounds lighter and Canelo still couldn't hurt him or win dominantly. I'm not sure why I continue to debate with an idiot such as yourself but your comments are too ****** to let slide.
