Damn, boxing is pathetic
Conor is light years ahead of Floyd in PPV performance

lol and whats the point of this?
Takeaways:
- At roughly the same age (28.35) Conor has over 7M PPV buys, where Floyd had a mere 365K
- Conor's career average (1.43M) is already ahead of Floyd's (1.32M)
- Through each fighter's first 5 PPVs, Floyd holds only ONE advantage over Conor - That's the buy rate of the De La Hoya fight. Floyd greatly benefited in that contest by having another incredible draw in Oscar. Conor has yet to face another fighter that is his equal in terms of PPV draws.
- If Conor maintains his pace, he'll break all of Floyd's records in 2 years and 196 days
- Averages 13,593 PPVs per day
- Needs 12,590,000 PPVs to pass Floyd
- That equates to 926 days
- That can also equate to about 9 more PPVs at his average buy rate of 1.43M. Since his average has increased every single time he's headlined, this stands to go down.
Mayweather hasn't lost, conor tapped out like a *****.Comment

So we agree, at this point Conor is way ahead of Floyd. That's what this thread boils down to.Conor is bigger at 28 than Floyd was at 28. There is no question about that. However, Floyd never got the push from Top Rank that McGregor is getting from the UFC. Not even close. Floyd went from doing a few hundred thousand buys to averaging over a million the moment he left Top Rank.
Floyd became a star using his own promotion while McGregor became a star through the UFC's promotion. McGregor also has stacked undercards on almost all his fights which helps boost his numbers. I don't see Conor ever doing the 4 million buy mark that Mayweather did with Pacquiao and I don't ever see him making the same kind of money that Floyd made either.Comment

the thing about this tho is this is what ufc says. the real numbers of anything ufc are never publically released. its also comparing apples to oranges its a ufc ppv not a mcgregor ppv where as floyd ppv are actually floyds ppv.

I will ask a serious question here..why are we comparing Connor to Floyd period?? Floyd spent 19 years as a pro and fought in 5 divisions beating the who's who of boxing..Floyd changed the landscape of the sport broke several records...McGregor has been hot for what?? a year?? i literally never heard of the guy until Rousey lost and she was suppose to be the cash cow then..So why do ya'll get so hyped on thee flavor of the month UFC fighters?? Once one of them loses then it is on to the next one..Floyd though 19 years stay consistently on top and winning..other then Anderson silva who has has longevity in the UFC??Comment

Yes, but what does it mean really? De La Hoya at 25 was more popular than Floyd at 25 as well but it was Floyd who ended up with all the revenue records. Conor may be bigger at 28 but I doubt he'll remain on top until his late 30s like Floyd did either.Comment
