That is not comparable either but you don't get the money you want if you can't draw so it goes HAND AND HAND!

Half of those fighters dont even fight anymore. And tate vs nunes only sold over 1mil because of brock, that fight on its own probably wouldnt even do 300k.

Hilarious thread!! This is a fact and fans can't even admit it. Lame excuses being thrown out there.

Conor is bigger at 28 than Floyd was at 28. There is no question about that. However, Floyd never got the push from Top Rank that McGregor is getting from the UFC. Not even close. Floyd went from doing a few hundred thousand buys to averaging over a million the moment he left Top Rank.

Floyd became a star using his own promotion while McGregor became a star through the UFC's promotion. McGregor also has stacked undercards on almost all his fights which helps boost his numbers. I don't see Conor ever doing the 4 million buy mark that Mayweather did with Pacquiao and I don't ever see him making the same kind of money that Floyd made either.

The one thing that a lot of people are missing is that Mayweather was a popular fighter in an unpopular sport. McGregor is a popular fighter in a popular sport. It's a lot harder to become a household name in a sport that doesn't enjoy mainstream appeal. If Golovkin was in the UFC, he would be one of the most popular fighters in America, but the sport of boxing is holding back Golovkin's popularity. Conversely if McGregor was a boxer, no one would know his name. He'd be Shawn Porter.

**** PPV numbers, who's more entertaining? was Mayweather vs Pacquiao really worth $100? has Mcgregor ever been in a boring fight? ..those questions tell it all.

                    Maybe 2 million.
Floyd didn't pull those 4 million by himself, Pacquiao is another massive star..what opponent can Mcgregor face comparable to Pacquiao in star power? ..

Boxing fans are funny. I'll say to the day I die that the NFL is better than tennis but I'd never use Tom Brady's salary as proof. McGregor is a draw. Deal with it.
