I don't think anyone's numbers are proven. The numbers mentioned with almost every boxing & MMA PPV is always "insider" numbers that are leaked or what have you. So all the numbers on both sides of this equation can be questioned as to how legit they actually are.

All that said whatever the numbers look like when the people with skin in the game see them its clear as day Floyd was the biggest PPV star in combat sports history & Conor is the biggest PPV star in combat sports right now.

thats not true at all. Many times the HBO and Showtime managers mention the numbers themselves

Idk that HBO or Showtime guys are exactly impartial since you are suggesting, & I'd agree, Dana White, the President of the UFC, isn't exactly impartial.

Mainly what I'm saying is there is no Nielsen rankings sorta PPV entity that 3rd parties the PPV buys & revenue from any PPV combat sports (and wrestling I believe) events & "insider" leaked info is about the most impartial & correct data we have on PPV details so nothing is really proven.

Floyd isn't the only one to reject Maidana's gloves.

The commission representative rejected those janky-ass gloves too.

            Maidana wore 8 oz gloves.

Floyd could have requested 12 oz gloves...but he didn't.

lol at the implied message of OP that connor could still be on top in 10 years at 38 years old. He already got stopped by an out of shape unprepared opponent once, you think he has the dedication to last 10 years on top? his last fight he was life and death as well and almost lost.

the average mayweather ppv is $70 with $100 for pacquao fight

Mcgregor most expensive ppv is only $50, he only worth $20 ppv in his several early ppv career.

                  now you do the math

I've seen this said over and over in this thread, but people are dismissing it for some reason.....but UFC PPVs are stacked. White puts lots of great fights on one card.

Makes zero sense to compare the two that way.

                      Also,
The Lesnar/Tate PPV would've been amazing if Jones didn't fail his drug test. Think about what it would've done with the true main event on the card.

Just proves that Mcgregor, while a star in his own right, benefits from the whole show.
