Do you have a guarantee on how long his career will last? Because it seems he and his team don't think tbey will have much of a career left if they fight GGG.

At the end of the day, this is more of a business than a fight.

Nobody jumps at the first offer without making a counter off. They would be ****** not to ask for more.
They will get more whether anyone thinks he deserves it or not is irrelevant.

The casuals, who seldom post on message boards will tune in, in droves.

Both camps will make money. Lots of it and Canelo will win, his fans will be happy and he will move on to the next low-risk opposition he and Golden Boy can get away with.

Fighters like Chavez Jr. will always get opportunities for no other reason than the "name" but more importantly due to the fact that he is mediocre and very beatable at a certain level. No different than a David Lemieux or a Kirkland.

Chavez Jr. is the perfect foil. He'd be crazy not to ask for more. He may even retire after this.

Deserves has nothing to do with the business of boxing.

Chavez should be happy he's being offered that. Foh! Dude is so irrelevant it's not even funny. Only Mexicans care about him. And it's only cuz of his father. He doesn't even deserve this type of fight.

to be fair the fight is a favor and blessing for chavez jr, canelo is good without it however chavez jr has a very tough road ahead of him.

If that was "guaranteed" hat is a very generous offer imo.
Considering his history and recent performances I think that is a more than generous offer!

Are you f...en ****ting compare Canelos last 10 fights to Juniors!

Junior is living off this daddy's name!

Don't get me wrong at one time he had the tools and some skills but he never had his daddy's heart!

Junior was coached by Freddie Roach during his middleweight title reign, then moved on to Vladimir Baldenebro and then Joe Goossen.

After the awful mess with Fonfara, JR moved Robert Garcia. When JR broke from R G and then back to Roach it was not about trainers.

Robert Garcia said : "Chavez Jr. is a great kid and a great person. We are still good friends. I'm okay with his decision. I'm okay with his decision because I know that it has nothing to do with boxing, nothing to do with me not being able to train him. It's personal issues that he's got and I totally support him," (Garcia told BoxingScene.com.)

"He was very generous to hand me a nice check for the time that I spent with him, the last month or so. We shook hands and we're still friends. I'll always be there to support him, because I'm his friend and not only his trainer."

"Very few of us know [Chavez's problems]. And I believe that I became one of those persons that he trusts and he believes in and when it comes to training he made his decision, but as a friend very few of us know his issues and I'm not going to reveal anything."

Can Roach fix these issues? Garcia believes not.

"Look, Roach is a great trainer. I would be ****** to say the opposite," Garcia said. "But Roach is not going to be the trainer [to fix these issues] because he has health issues, he has other fighters....he's not going to be spending a whole day with Chavez. He will see him in the gym and they will do great in the gym, but Chavez's issues are outside of the ring and not inside the ring."

And now he is back with his uncle.

I think it was great JR made 168 but Dominik Britsch had never heard of. Looking at his record non of his opponents come to mind!

Sounds to me like Haymon is trying to cash in his chips before JR goes off the rail on the crazy train!

5 mil is more than enough or he can go back to Azteca TV!

US viewers were lucky to see it on BeIN Sports!

Just like they gave us Margarito the bald Alvarez and Mags vs Paez Jr!
