Charlo is basically just a little late to the party and will have to wait in line.

Canelo is already going down the tracks of either Lemieux, Saunders or JCC Junior next, then on to GGG. Once that's played out, Charlo willbe close to the front of the line.

Meantime no harm in him going to 160 as he states he intends to do and settling into the weight with a fight against some other 160 lber before taking on the top guy. Its the smart thing to do - its what Ward did at 175 and its what Canelo is doing at 160.

There is no guarantee he carries to 160 yet. eg Abraham was a beast at 160, so much so that some had him favoured to win the super-6 based on his dominance at 160. Then look what happened ! Ditto Donaire owned 122 but was a kitten at 126 - doesn't always carry.

I don't think Charlo is some boxing monster, Williams was clearly landing on with ease.

Before everybody starts with their Canelo is ducking Charlo bull****, I'ma tell you this.

Charlo won me as a fan with that beauty KO past last Saturday, he's a huge guy, a very rangy and tall guy, a big puncher, an ok defensive fighter, a great offensive fighter and a good IQ fighter but.................................styllistically Canelo is all wrong for Charlo.

Charlo even thou has a great Jab is flat footed and likes to stay in the pocket to exchange punches, those kinds of fighters are the ones who Canelo demolishes (Kirkland-Angulo) now, I obviously know that Charlo ain't no Kirkland or Angulo, Charlo is a much complete fighter than those two but that doesn't change the fact that styllistically his main engine is based on those attributes.

Canelo's main problem would be if Charlo used that Jab through all the fight, but there's gonna be a time when Charlo like he's always done stays there and exchanges, that's his nature. At the inside department most of the taller guys have problems fighting shorter guys and Canelo is a beast at the inside game.

With that height disparity Charlo's ribs and body is gonna be right there in front of Canelo, Charlo has a huge flaw and I saw it in the Trout and Williams fights, he sometimes gets overconfident with his power and leaves himself wide open and that won't be good against an experienced good upperbody defense hard counterpuncher.

Charlo has a chin but his body through all that dehydrating ain't gonna be able to receibe those nasty body shots. Canelo's short pitbull frame is great against taller fighters.

Canelo stops Charlo PERIOD.

If you want to be smart and tell me why not, then come with a good analysis like mine, I said it numerous times, styles makes fights and Canelo destroys Charlo and I really think he'll beat GGG in a brutal war.

Lara beats Canelo again in a rematch and I would favor Andrade to beat Canelo because he's a more slick, rangy and trickier guy.

1) If Charlo were a tall fighter who masters distance control (AKA Erislandy Lara type) he would beat Canelo in a heartbeat, sadly for you that ain't the case.

2) On the outside Charlo beats Canelo, on the inside Canelo demolishes Charlo.

Charlo @ 154, GGG @ 160! Canelo is between a rock and a hard place! Then again, there's always BJ Saunders and the WBO MW title! I don't think Charlo is ready for GGG. I just think the punches that Williams got in, and where they were placed, would have been much more devastating had GGG threw them. I want to see Charlo vs. Brook @ 154, or Charlo vs. Andrade @ 154, before Charlo goes to 160! In the meantime, let Tony Harrison and Jarrett Hurd fight for the #1 contender spot!

And how do you think the punches Brook landed would affect GGG if Charlo was the one throwing them?
