Charlo is basically just a little late to the party and will have to wait in line.

Canelo is already going down the tracks of either Lemieux, Saunders or JCC Junior next, then on to GGG. Once that's played out, Charlo willbe close to the front of the line.

Meantime no harm in him going to 160 as he states he intends to do and settling into the weight with a fight against some other 160 lber before taking on the top guy. Its the smart thing to do - its what Ward did at 175 and its what Canelo is doing at 160.

There is no guarantee he carries to 160 yet. eg Abraham was a beast at 160, so much so that some had him favoured to win the super-6 based on his dominance at 160. Then look what happened ! Ditto Donaire owned 122 but was a kitten at 126 - doesn't always carry.

Charlo is probably going to 160. HBO, K2 and GBP are never going to let GGG or Canelo fight him at this point.

I don't want to see Charlo pull a GGG and fight bum after bum. That said, when you see GGG being called a top p4p fighter because he KO's bum after bum it's easy to see why Charlo's people would have him take the same easy pathway to p4p prominence if its available.

I would love to see him fight Lara and Nadrade before completing the full time move to 160.

Charlo is not fighting Lara..he explained why in simple terms.

That's the truth! No different than GGG choosing Chavez Jr. over Andre Ward! Chavez Jr. doesn't have the resume, but he brings more "eyeballs," and eyeballs equal money! Last, but not least, Canelo (and in GGG's case: Chavez Jr.) gives Charlo a better chance to win!

while part of it agree with, if you took chavez tv numbers and ticket numbers, he actually does less than ggg was, even when he was really popular around the sergio fight. only difference is chavez was getting paid alot but his opponents werent really. only big thing chavez had was the ppv buy rate.
