He vacated just before it went to bid under those terms, it was never going to happen.
The rule entitling an interim champ to 45% in the event of a purse bid was removed. If you look at the latest edition of the WBC rules, it isn't there now.

GGG might have got 55/45, if Loeffler had petitioned the WBC asking for it and a majority of the council had voted in favour.

But that doesn't answer the question: Why didn't Oscar offer GGG $10million and 160 for fight in Sept 2016, when Canelo still had the WBC title?

If GGG had accepted it - which he almost certainly would have done - there would have been no need to worry about a purse bid.

You won't answer that question, so I'll do it for you. Oscar didn't make that offer because he was scared GGG would have accepted it, and he didn't want the fight to happen.

The rule was in place, the split could have been 55/45 and it was completely unrealistic. This fight doesn't need a belt or it's rules, it's the fighters that make it a huge deal.

      It's really not difficult.

They offered the fight for next year because they are going to have a fight or two at 160 first to get acclimated to the weight. The offer was on the table to guarantee the biggest fight in boxing within a year, they said no.

The little guy and a joke with the big mouth is you.
GGG is right in the MW division 160 pounds, and going up to 172 pounds to please the dumb f&8#s is foolish. 12 pounds makes a huge difference in boxing. Would you ask Froch or Canelo to go up 12 pounds and fight somebody much bigger than they are?
There is a purpose for the weight divisions ..... grow some brains. Three belts and 30 KO of 33 speaks all one needs to know.

Guarantee? GTFOH. Canelo already gave two guarantees to fight GGG "next" and he broke his word both times.

And it's literally impossible to gaurantee anything 14 months down the line in a sport like boxing. Canelo blatently ducked Golovkin, and you're either following some anti GGG agenda or you're a ****ing idiot.

If Oscar was serious he'd offer a percentage, can't believe people think otherwise. It was a bull**** offerbut he's supposed to take because yall judge him the way y'all do when the facts are he's almost the goddamn undisputed champ and doesn't have to take **** from oscar or any *****ass fans

                /discussion

FACT: Canelo is a superstar and Golovkin is NOT

no way is Golovkin worth anything even close to that percentage, the fight was never going to happen under those conditions..... that would have been ******..... as I'm sure you accountants who think that 10mil is not enough money for Golovkin, will agree

stop thinking that fighters have to concede everything to Golovkin, because they don't..... especially the big money fighters like Cotto/Canelo/Mayweather

still waiting for Golovkin to make 1 concession EVER

still waiting for you guys to hold him accountable for his words/actions

                  yea, pretty much

As much as I don't want Canelo/Chavez to happen, Golovkin/Chavez is not the worst fight that could be made.

                  Canelo.....
                  1) is not yet even a middleweight
                  2) the 164lb catchweight would drain Jnr
                  3) Canelo has better options, and better things to do with his time..... settling into 160 should be high on his list

In saying that, I understand why it could happen.

With Golovkin things are a little different.....
if no Jacobs/Saunders - and BOTH look unlikely - then it is unlikely that Golovkin will fight a better opponent than Jnr..... with Heiland (or similar) probably getting the nod

If Golovkin selects Chavez, I won't shht on that fight.

..... but I will shht on Golovkin fans who call Canelo a businessman, when Golovkin is clearly doing the same thing..... and I will shht on Golovkin fans who use size to justify the 164lb catchweight demand on Ward, because that clearly aint the case if Golovkin is willing to fight Jnr at 168.

why I am a bit unclear is..... I did not see Jnr's last fight, and I highly doubt that he will be competitive with Golovkin at 168 (because Golovkin is too good) and I highly doubt that he will be competitive with Canelo at 164 (because Canelo is too good, and Jnr would be drained)

..... how did Jnr look last time out? I heard that he made weight ok, but will he be competitive against either of those guys, especially at 164?

Yea....no. That's the last thing I want to see.

On one hand, sure, because I detest Chavez Jr I would love to watch that beating he would get, because he would get demolished.

But because I detest him, I also don't want to see him get that payday, that attention, and that recognition of even being somebody to fight. And yea, he is a garbage opponent on paper anyway, and serves no real purpose, so yea I hope it never happens.

With all this talking and he golovkin never fighting im starting to believe that he golovkin is a ****ing diva and probably is the one asking for too much money to get the fights done and not the other way around.

And yet he's always acting like all them boxers are ducking he's ass.
