dunno about that man, he's never been with a HW has he?

I mean cunningham had a run at HW but he was always a blown up cruiser.

I feel Sanchez or JDJ would be perfect for parker.

Not gonna lie. I haven't seen much of Parker. But there's a lot of undefeated heavyweights out there right now that have crept towards the top of the division. Hopefully we can get some of these guys in the ring together in 2017.

I had Parker just about edging it before the scores were read, but was half-expecting to see home-scoring like 118-110 (as that's what we have sadly come to expect these days). So I was actually quite surprised by how 'fair' the judges scored it !

But I guess the judges were from Argentina, Germany and the Philippines, so no real reason why they would be favouring one over the other. I think a rare case of the judges getting it spot-on.

I had it 116:112 for Ruiz Jr.
They should have known they dont get a decision. Fast fattie should habe been more agressive in the early rounds to stop Parker. He loses pop in the second half of the fight so better let it all out in the early rounds. But Ruiz jr. did better than i thought he would and his stamina was not worse than Parkers. I look forward to Ruiz next fights, fast fattie is something special. I hope he slims down at least a little bit to perform a bit better and cant wait to see more of him.

Alot of people here say JP has the same power..i dont think he does. If he goes against AJ with the same backfoot tactics as this fight and gets buzzed..its goodnight vienna.

Tactics against aj should be what should have been done tonight..going forward not back. If he wants to keep that belt he needs a new trainer otherwise someone who has the knowledge is gonna fancy his bauble belt and take it off him.
Im with you Yammy. People have such short memories. Generally speaking, AJ was in the fight of his life against Dylan White before White injured his shoulder. Now i happen to think Whyte is a good fighter, he throws punches in bunches, among other things...but after that fight people were saying AJ would look horrendous, etc. And Wilder? a couple of his outings have been less than steller.

All these guys are developing. ironickly I don't like Aj's last fights because they do him no good fighting stationery targets who cannot move. Wilder is developing and starting to put his punches together at least. As far as Ruiz and Parker, these guys did not look good against each other because they were trying to make adjustments...I have not seen the fight so I don't want to talk out of my piehole, but I am betting both these guys benefitted tremendously from fighting each other and will show well against others in the division. They still have a lot to learn but have plenty of time to do so.

Ruiz started the better of the two and took the first two rounds on my card. But after that he just switched off. There was no urgency what so ever. So lazy when he could have won had he put in the effort. So much for willing to die to win.

Parker started badly and never really improved much over the course of the twelve rounds. He was fighting really nervous for the first half of the fight. And all he did was flick out most of his shots with them barely landing. But Due to Ruiz being inactive for most of the fight Parker had to be given the rounds just on activity, so I scored the fight to him on a close one.

Really poor fight from both guys. There's not too much else to say really. But Parker won't be keeping hold of the title for long unless they get him some really crud fighters to beat up on.

                      Disappointing Parker

Being a kiwi I was really keen to see Joe step up and show that he has what it takes to take on the real names in the future. He looked like a punching bag that had its settings set just 1 level too high for Ruiz.
His jab was great but nothing came after them, Ruiz constant forward fighting should've won it for him as neither hit the other with anything damaging. Being just 24 he can still improve and prove he can tough it with the big boys but as of now Klit, Haye, DW and AJ all ko him.
