Won't mean shyt, he should've never lost to Salido, by the time they can the fight, it'll be 3 years, Salido is not built to beat pure boxers, he should've fought this dude in his very next fight.

Salido weight cheated Lomachenko so that 'win' doesn't really mean shit.

The guy was 29-2 with losses to only Ricky Burns and Mikey Garcia.

If you truly believe that this is Lomachenko's "first legitimate fight" then you are either high or YDKSAB
Just a hater. Saying Arum put training wheels on Loma instead of just throwing him into the fire... What? His Walters example might be the ******est one. They offered Walters a fight earlier in the year with a higher purse but its somehow Bob master plan Walters had a year layoff. These "hardcore" fans are delusional with their hate.

Anyways on topic I'm not too excited about this fight. I feel like it's going to be a shut out win or salido going to get punish very badly.

This fight needs to happen. To me it seems like everyone who doesn't want it to happen doesn't like Lomachenko and doesn't want him to have a chance to show how much, or if, he's improved since that fight.

On top of that, everyone saying "this fight means nothing" is absolutely wrong. Yes, it is a chance for Lomachenko to redeem himself.. but if he loses, this will forever be a huge mark against him. It's an extremely risky fight for Loma, all the pressure will be on him.

The sooner he gets this taken care of the better. Hope they make it happen ASAP.

I agree there are better fights out there for him, but this is a loose end he needs to cut and sooner is better than later.

This is a joke. The only reason salido was even remotely competitive was because it was Loma's first taste of dirty tactics in a fight. Now he has mastered them of his own right. It will be so uncompetitive and Salido will get KOed.

I'm very interested to see how Lomachenko adapts to Salido this time. He got hit with quite a lot in the first fight

Pretty sure Loma learned more from that 1 Salido fight than he would have got from 15 fights against lesser fighters if we went that route to learning the professional game. Best thing he could have done.

That's the thing, he did learn, a lot. Salido did pretty well in that fight, the weight difference and unpunished low blows aside, he also landed some clean shots on Loma, whereas Martinez and Loma could hardly touch him (don't remember how much Russell caught him, only that it was a 10% connect rate).

Will Salido be able to land those same (clean) shots next time ? For sure he will get some home, but its a fairly safe bet he will get home with fewer, not more.

Loma's biggest lesson was pacing himself for a 12 round title fight. Watch his start again, he started much more slowly than any of his other fights since - he got the pacing wrong. Will he make that mistake again ?

No guarantees ever in boxing, but pretty safe bets are:
                      - Salido catches him with fewer clean shots
                      - Loma starts faster
                      - a referee who is under pressure from the get-go to apply the low blow rule
                      - Salido pays a high price in the contract if he misses weight again (so no weight advantage this time)

Other than that, I would also bet on Loma's connect rate increasing.

Salido spent a lot of the latter part of the first fight going in bent over and throwing a lot of punches that started low and were rising, aimed at the body (easier target than head). Loma often closes the distance to move inside of punches, and it meant that when he did that, the punch would land 'early' on the way up and land low. Salido kept up his activity that way without fear of punishment for the low blows Loma walked into. He won't be able to do that next time and will have to change his punch style/output.

Add it all up - for sure won't be the same as the first fight.

And there are different ways to quit. Walters method is 'I quit'. Tyson method is 'bite ear'. I'm betting on a Salido DQ.
