The company that underwrote the policy for UFC that the commission approved will only write for UFC and not boxing. At least thats what Dibella said.Last edited by OnePunch; 12-06-2016, 02:11 AM.Comment

Kathy Duva folks. She just had to have it in Vegas at the T-Mobile. An arena even Canelo couldn't sell out. The tickets weren't that expensive for a Vegas fight. Could've been held in New York like Roc Nation wanted. The media capital of the world. Probably would've sold more PPV too. And she knew Nevada rules are local judges for their fights. In New York she could've gotten the foreign judges. This lady thinks she she's the smartest person in the room and it's always backfiring.Comment

Neither of them are from NY, Ward is a west coast fighter. That would've done terrible numbers in NY, like Bradley vs Alexander in Detroit, one guy was from the South (St Louis) and another one from the West (Palm Springs)..and they fought in Detroit lol, terrible venue. Ward is from the West coast, Kovalev is from Russia and they should've fought in the East Coast? No way, it would've bombed. The next best move was to have it in Oakland, NY would have been a step backwardComment

You are CRAZY to think that the fight would have done better in NYC!!! Jacobs vs Quillen (Jacobs from Brooklyn & Quillen who resides in Brooklyn) drew ONLY 8,442 for their fight. Those are two guys who live in the area & they couldn't even bring in 10K. Ward doesn't have a fanbase on the east coast...hosting in NYC is great in THEORY, but awful in reality!
Also keep in mind that NY now has a very big insurance fee to stage fights. Let's not even mention the taxes on the purses.Comment
