only people who scored it for ward think they were tight. thats the problem. people who know how to score and can count see that kov landed more punches and they saw that kov's punches were much cleaner and harder. people that scored it for ward come up with excuses why and think body work that isnt necessarilly landing clean is better than clean shots. obv if you read the rules it says clean punching so you are in the wrong and you know it.

its a pattern man! Only black american fighters get called for holding by the racist boxing fan base and press.... If you are mexican, filipino or russian you get away with clinching and head locks all night..... The double standards are sickening.....Comment

JDJ is cool but to say Ward just tried to survive after the knockdown isn't true because Ward took the fight to Kovalev after the knockdown. Also Kovalev didn't take his foot off the gas, those body shots took the gas out of him.Comment

Ignorant people want to always make it a race thing a black& white thing. No idio7s Ward has always fought like that hit and hold b.s. style. No man desrves a win and definitely 3 belts from the champ after getting knocked down and losing 7 rounds and fighting on his bicycle hitting and holdin the whole fight. Ever.Comment

Problem is, in order to give Ward the decision, you'd have to give him the edge in all of the swing rounds and that isn't an unbiased way to go about it. If you want to make it a very even fight you can give them 6 rounds each and Kovalev wins it 114-113 with the KD.And? That's what happens with a close fight, you end up with knowledgeable people falling on opposite sides of the line.
The fact is that Kovalev started off strong and even got a knockdown...but by the end of the night many unbiased observers STILL felt Andre Ward had won.
That just goes to show how tight some of those rounds were and that there is a range of scores that would be fair and reasonable.
The decision was no robbery.Comment

yea, and Roach's "Pac didn't knock him out because he felt sorry for him" bunk.Comment

Hey mang, wtf is this?

I thought the Pacquiao fans one was funny but this one is even funnier.
Anyway, the Kovalev bandwagoners probably feel pretty betrayed right now. They have been crying robbery and making excuses and in comes JDJ admitting they probably gave the fight away.
ahahah I'm with you guys
hope you don't mind bigjavi

Crucial point is he didn't win all of it. Kovalev won 10 & 12 clearly for me. Pretty much won most of the first half too..
I think truth is if we are to take all the collective thought then neither man really separated themselves from each other, but overall over 12 full rounds i think Kovalev was more dominant, higher accuracy, more damage & was the fighter who won the rounds that were CLEARLY his more dominantly. Ward stole a few..
Under these circumstances it is unreasonable of you to suggest that any opinion other than yours means irrationality & unknowing of the sport.
Kovalev was NOT more accurate
THAT was his problem
he missed a TON of punchesComment
