What people have to remember is Ward has fought much less than Kovalev of late so in reality Ward can only get better from here having faced top competition for the first time in several years. He's likely to be much sharper in the rematch and having seen what Kovalev has in his tool box there's not gonna be any surprises next time. Personally i think the next fight will be the same as the last seven rounds but more decisive for Andre.

Ward i honestly think you have more adjustments to make then Kovalev..good win but you have to be a lot better in the rematch

Curious who you thought won the fight Larry? I had it a draw at best for Ward. When they announced the scorecards I thought FOR SURE Kovalev won. I was shocked to hear differently. And I was rooting hard core for Ward.

Ward must have forgot just because he got the gift win that kovalev can easily outbox him, the amount of effort for him to get inside in the rematch will be redoubled or tripled this time.

Kovalev will pepper him up with more and more powerful jabs in the rematch. I don't think ward can do anything with it but eat a lot of it just to get inside from time to time which in no way guarantees he'll win in the inside next time.

But then again, never fear, all ward has to do in the rematch is survive. That's it. I think ward have realized this, that's why he said he'll win the rematch easier because all he need to do is prevent a knockdown and he'll cruise his way to victory in judges score cards this time around.

Dude almost got completely put to sleep in the second then he goes into hugfest mode the remainder of the bout. His face was all kinds of punched up after the bout too. Nonstop jabs next time to keep Ward from hugging and it's a wrap.
