They were both clinching, Kovalev was headlocking Ward all the time, and Ward was the one mostly trying to work on the inside.
There's no one to blame for the clinching coz they both did it and both were warned numerous times.Comment

Anyhow Ward looked phenomenal after the slow start and KD. I had Ward winning the 3rd round and I believe losing 4 and 5. He practically swept the last 6 (I had Ward in 5 of last 6 rounds). It wasn't even that close really. Only 2-3 rounds were swing rounds so I'm honestly surprised by some of the guys hereComment

I'm not even interested in the rematch.
1. Because we have to be anti-Ward!
2. I've said it before Kovalev is a pretty basic fighter. He probably won't win the rematch since Ward will adapt better and even if Kovalev deserved the rematch as well he still wouldn't get the decision.

Andre Ward kind of got exposed in this fight. Kovalev made it hard on himself by following Ward around the ring. This fight proved to me why Floyd Mayweather's ring IQ will never be match. He doesn't have to rely on making fights ugly. That's what Ward did in this fight. Not a robbery. But I thought the wrong fighter got the decision.Comment

I didn't pay to see the fight, but I am smiling now because I know the b...itching and griping on this message board over the next few days is going to be epic!
From what I have read, the fight was close and could have gone either way. However, I see the conspiracy theorists are already busy and I look forward to reading all the garabage over the next few days about how bad the judging was, how boring Ward was and how superior MMA is to boxing.Comment

Okay so Felix Trinidad won against Oscar De La Hoya because Oscar ran in the latter rounds despite winning first half of the fight.
Now Kov won the first half of the fight AND ON TOP OF THAT, Ward was running the entire fight. Literally running and waving at Kov.
And Kovalev landed the much harder blows.
How do you explain Ward winning? Did he even land a single right hand?Comment
