Reading the comments here have left me stunned. Did I not see the same fight?

Some people wanted 116-111 for Kovalev??? Why? Because Harold Lederman had that score???

I had it 114-113 for either fighter. There were too many close rounds, but I can easily give 6 rounds Ward won and at least 5 rounds Kovalev won. With Kovalev's knockdown in the 2nd round that leaves 1 point left...up to the viewer in my eyes.

Honestly stunned how much disagreement this fight had. I guess those same people think Cotto beat Canelo??

You just gave Ward too much credit for what he did and forgot the fact Kovalev was answered all of Ward's offense.

It was like "Since Kovalev did not dominate or KD Ward, I'll give to Ward".

There are terrible decisions in boxing.
I remember when Evander Holyfield took a beating from Lennox Lewis in their first fight and got a draw!
and of course there was the time when Tim Bradely beat Manny Pacquiao. Haha.
Well this one is right up there. Just awful.
And what even worse about it is that this is at a time when boxing desperately needs to deliver to the fans.
And at a time when the dumbest internet trolls who started watching last week and turn into ****** fanboys with a keyboard will doubtless go on about how Ward actually won.
But the sad thing is it disgraces the sport.
At other times boxing has been in good shape and could absorb this kind of bull****
At other times boxing wasn't facing competitive threats like UFC
but right now boxing is in serious trouble and it has brought this on itself
this kind of bull**** is the very last thing it needs

I had no dog in it, but I had to go with Kova...

Ward held as much as Wlad but Wlad gets hated on...Ward holds but on the UK feed not once do they mention Ward holding...talk about bias...

Kova was the champ, he had the knock down, and at best for Ward he scored a draw...

The ref was straight filth...He let Ward hold and rabbit punch with no warning, the moment Kova did anything resembling illegal tactics ref was on his nuts like white on rice.

Draw at best or Kova win, but Ward DID NOT win this fight.

Put a clean ref in there that wouldnt let Ward hold Kova would have him on the floor 3x more...

Boxing is ****ed...

Yeah...insane that the announcers and ref kept blaming Ward. It was so obviously Kovalev doing the clinching and trying to smother WARD's work...that's ironic lmao

Anyhow Ward looked phenomenal after the slow start and KD. I had Ward winning the 3rd round and I believe losing 4 and 5. He practically swept the last 6 (I had Ward in 5 of last 6 rounds). It wasn't even that close really. Only 2-3 rounds were swing rounds so I'm honestly surprised by some of the guys here

Thats the way i saw it. Kovalev started off hot and ward was down bigtime. Then he won alot of the later rounds. Kov didnt really do much the final 6 rounds and kind of gave it away to ward who was really trying to pull it out.

wards body punches depleted kovalevs gas tank. .just imagine what ward with a little bit of power coulda done to him smh. he was pushing kovalevs head all the way back with jabs. . close, competitive but ward won. . kovalev cant cry about fighting in the USA because why sign the contract then? .. ward figured out kovs range and nullified the right hand.
