De la Hoya once said Floyd was more difficult to hit with a clean shot than Sweet Pea was. However, Oscar was prime when he faced Pernell and not prime when he faced Floyd so that needs to be taken into account.Comment

Anyways, Pernell embarrassed Chavez, Taylor was doing so but was eventually broke down although he should have been allowed to finish the fight and Frankie Randall beat Chavez once and Chavez quit the second time. Floyd at 140 was probably at his best based on the eye test although he only fought twice there. There's nothing that would favor Chavez in a mythical fight, irregardless if you like Floyd or not.Comment

Floyd at 140 was at his absolute peak. Size, skill, power, speed. It was when he had an almost perfect blend if defense and offense. And he actually grew into that weight. He could have stayed there and dominated for a while but he moved up to chase the big fights which actually worked out for him. Chavez sr. By comparison definitely slowed down at 140 and he was definitely undersized. No way he beats Floyd at 140. I suggest people actually watch both guys instead of just jumping on one bandwagon or the other.Comment
