If it was Ward vs Stevenson, I don't think anyone would expect Stevenson to be able to land his one big punch and to be thoroughly out-boxed by Ward over the 12, possibly even stoppage.

Ditto Kovalev v Stevenson, Kovalev would also be the overwhelming favorite.

No-one sees Stevens on as the top dog at 175, and I suspect he doesn't either, but to translate, he's basically saying 'winner should give me a big payday as I've got a belt to trade...'. Fair enough, but if Ward beats Kovalev, Kovalev stays number 2 - if Kovalev beats Ward, only way Ward doesn't rank number 2 is if he's totally outclassed by Kovalev, which is pretty unlikely.
