If you are confident of beating someone would you offer them a crappy deal that they will never accept, drop a world title and force yourself back down to an uncomfortable weight to put the fight off for a year for no reason?

GGG/K2 just saying '**** it, we'll take the fight' is exactly what Canelo/GBP are hoping for. They know they have given him a **** offer and are using the media to try and pressure GG and make him look like the one stalling the fight.

GG would be crazy to take a flat fee for this fight bearing in mind how big it could potentially be.

That's why Team GGG needs to call GBP bluff, get the fight done and KO Canelo, a rematch would be bigger and more lucrative. Canelo would need GGG after getting destoryed, right now Canelo does not need GGG and the longer the fight takes to happen the better for GBP... only idiots think money should be the only way forward for GGG here.

GGG holds the WBC, WBA and IBF titles in his weight class. He's the only fighter in the world that currently holds the WBC, WBA and IBF titles in his weight class. Hell, he's the only fight in the world that holds the WBC & WBA titles in his weight class.

Canelo dropped down in weight and gave up his title to avoid his mandatory, GGG.

Canelo's claim to fame is getting dominated by Floyd Mayweather and beating an over the hill Miguel Cotto for the imaginary 155 pound world championship.

GGG is the most dominant fighter in the world right now and should be ranked #1 pound for pound. Nobody else has dominated their weight class the way GGG has. He knows Canelo can't make 154 forever. Canelo is starving himself to avoid GGG. It's only a matter of time before he has no choice but to face GGG.

Why should GGG settle for $10 million when he can wait a year and make more? Possibly much much more?

And let's face it, we're talking ggg-canelo here. The payday would be great, but I gotta be realistic with myself(ggg) and look at the situation. This isn't for the wbc belt that canelo had and I made him get rid of. This is probably a fight where it's not favoring me because I'm fighting a bigger name. So if I'm still that confident, then I'll have to concede to things I normally wouldn't for anyone else. If not, then I'll continue to fight for the pay I'm getting 3 times a year and look elsewhere.

Idk what realistic number you think this fight can make in today's boxing economy, but $10 mil isn't bad. And if anyone thinks it is, then pass up on it and continue with your career. There's no sense in waiting on someone to put food on my table
The point I'm making is ... why would you accept the first offer you get, when you know you have at least a year to negotiate?

And remember, if this fight doesn't happen, GGG isn't the only one who lose out on a monster payday, Canelo and Oscar will too. Golovkin is the biggest fight out there for them.

It's more than double my biggest payday. It's a little less than what canelo made vs Floyd, right? I think ginger made between 9-12 mil. Please correct me if I'm wrong. That is boxing second highest grossing fight.

Idk how much people think a canelo vs ggg fight will or can make, but if you're not willing to take that offer then why bother to negotiate at all? Your star isn't that bright. Jacobs, Saunders, Eubank, Degale, or anyone else isn't getting you near that unless you fight a few of those names in one calendar year.

I agree that canelo and GBP will lose money as well, however, there's always that Cotto rematch looming. There's still him putting 50k butts in a stadium when he fights to fall back on. He's younger, has a longer career ahead of him, so I think he'll be ok in the money department in comparison to ggg. What do i know? I only answered the question that was asked in this thread.

I agree. He wasnt 100%. And honestly nobody knows the real truth. Thats a lot of ***ing money. I mean a shlt load. Who ***ing knows if the fix was in. They did meet in private. Who knows if a rematch is in the pot. Or if the fight was rigged or not. I know this...Manny is an amazing fighter. Floyd is a extremely good defensive fighter. Both of them looked like c class fighter that night. Ive seen better sparring sessions.

a regular joe would fight any pro for less than 1 mil. throw 1/2 a mil at us and wed jump at it. if we were pro boxers, 10 mil might not be enough.
