I don't think he should wait another 2 years, this fight shouldn't be about money to him or his team, it should be about getting Canelo name on his resume, the money would come with a Canelo win, waiting for Canelo can take forever. Again call Canelos bluff and KO him, not only would GGG be getting his biggest career pay to date but he would have made his resume and a rematch more lucrative, he has been ducked for so long according to his team but now they are going to let money prevent him from achieving that goal? That doesn't sound or sit right.
If you were confident you could beat someone...would you fight them for $10 million?

If Canelo absolutey will not budge from that first offer he made, then Golovkin can always accept it further down the line. But he'd be nuts to not even try to get something better, with a whole year to play with. It's more than double my biggest payday. It's a little less than what canelo made vs Floyd, right? I think ginger made between 9-12 mil. Please correct me if I'm wrong. That is boxing second highest grossing fight.
Idk how much people think a canelo vs ggg fight will or can make, but if you're not willing to take that offer then why bother to negotiate at all? Your star isn't that bright. Jacobs, Saunders, Eubank, Degale, or anyone else isn't getting you near that unless you fight a few of those names in one calendar year.
I agree that canelo and GBP will lose money as well, however, there's always that Cotto rematch looming. There's still him putting 50k butts in a stadium when he fights to fall back on. He's younger, has a longer career ahead of him, so I think he'll be ok in the money department in comparison to ggg. What do i know? I only answered the question that was asked in this thread.
Oscar is bluffing with this, imo. He knows a fight as big as GGG/Canelo will end up with a percentage split deal.
Meantime, he can try to appease all the fans Canelo pissed off by ducking out of defending his MW belt with this bullshit.Comment
