I love boxing but not $50 worth to watch a fight live I can see for free in one week on Direct TV I am already paying for. They almost always show these pay for view fights for free on HBO or Showtime the following Saturday and that's when I watch them. I am sure both boxers are being well paid. Just enjoy a great fight and be glad it's free.
I really don't understand this reasoning. I'm a fan and need to watch a fight live. Watching it a week later after you already know the result adds zero excitement, which is why I watch boxing, for the excitement. Not a knock on you but I just need to watch the fights live.

Showtime carries PBC fights with the PBC logo. Also the last I heard is they haven't decided where it's going to be aired although it was first announced as a Showtime card

Keith Thurman vs. Danny Garcia Could Air on CBS in Prime Time

Showtime pays for PBC fights, or fighters. PBC investors pay for PBC fights. Huge difference. What do you think is the reason why some PBC fights air on Showtime?

          Thats silly.

Thats like saying a Top Rank fight on HBO is a HBO fight & not a Top Rank fight cuz HBO is paying rights fees to Top Rank. More or less the same difference with this situation except I'd argue PBC is a more fluid entity than a promoter in that you could in theory have PBC fights on any network or even PPV as you are suggesting will happen with Garcia vs Thurman despite them being their own "network" kinda sorta & not being a promoter. Therefore you can have a HBO Top Rank fight & a Showtime PBC fight.

Its just a brand in my eyes at the end of the day doe. A brand thats largely focused on bringing fights to a larger viewing public while that not being the only thing they are focused on right now.

Why wouldn't PBC fights air on Showtime? That was the plan from the day PBC was announced.

Q: Are the fighters on NBC eligible to still appear on Showtime?

A: 100% YES. NOT ONLY ARE THEY ELIGIBLE, THEY MOST CERTAINLY WILL BE BACK ON SHOWTIME IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE…AND WE EXPECT THAT THEY WILL BRING WITH THEM A LARGER SWATH OF FIGHT FANS THAN EVER BEFORE.

Am not emphasizing the difference in branding, PBC, Showtime, doesn't matter. PBC fighters fighting on SHO will always be considered PBC fights anyways. Who cares? I was pointing out the manner in which fights are funded. Obviously, PBC hands over fights to Showtime at certain times or when they can't afford it.
