I've seen Sullivan Barrera fight Andre Ward, Karo Murat, and Jeff Lacy. I've seen Kovalev fight Campillo, Cornelius White, Hopkins, the first Pascal fight, and parts of the Chilemba fight.

Style for style, I can't point to a single thing, outside of maybe punch power, where you can clearly say that Kovalev does this clearly better than Barrera.

Is Kovalev's jab significantly better than Barrera's jab? No. Is Kovalev's defense significantly better than Barrera's? No. Is Kovalev's lead hook better than Barrera's? No. etc.

Please point to a single skill, and I'll move on.

One thing off of the top of my head without watching tape is Kovalev's straight left. That sets him apart from the rest of them in at least 1 respect. he knocked Nadjib Mohammedi down with it and catches a lot of guys with it because it is a punch they don't see coming. They would expect a left hook instead.

Skill for skill, what does Sergey Kovalev do that Sullivan Barrera can't do? Outside of just sheer punching power (which can be doubted), there's not a single aspect that you can confidently point to.

Isaac Chilemba and Andre Ward, disregard anything about p4p or where they are rated, are similar fighters but not the same fighter. Andre Ward's feet/foot placement is better than Chilemba, Ward's far more effective in getting his offense/negating an opponents offense on the inside than Chilemba is, and is far more dynamic in his use of both hands than Chilemba is, to point out the obvious differences.

I think he'll do 25 to 30%, which is well above average for a Ward opponent. If he does above 35%, he's going to win the fight.

Ward's #1 priority is neutralizing Kovalev's attack so the fight hinges on his ability to do that. I believe he'll do it by controlling distance but only Andre and Virgil know for sure.
