Absolutely. PBC seems to have financial problems so it may be hard for Haymon to back a huge bid by a promoter.

It also will cost more money to have the fight in NYC given there new insurance requirements.
I mean what would you think if they did bid 5m+ with 75% going to 5-1 favorite, HBO's Ggg? What would Wilder think? Why would any network wanna do business with such a clown?

Who do you think is more believable, the guys that offer the B side mando 2 Quillins, or the guy that passes on that cause in his mind it's a super mega fight? I don't need an answer, I know it's gonna be moronic based on your track record. But think about it, dumb****

wtf are you asking here? If the aymon affiliated promoter bids that and wins the bid, he gets to control where the fight is and on what network, which might result in GGG vacating. If K2 wins the fght is on HBO and thats it.

Why are you asking about Wilder?

We get it, you want K2 to win the bid so there are no other issues. Very well may happen as PBC has some financial issues that may limit how much a Haymon associated promoter can bid.

everything I've heard about that is that the premiums will be around $20k for the new insurance. Certainly that kills small shows, as an extra 20k can represent 20-30% of their entire budget. But for the BIG shows the extra 20 grand is meaningless.......

I thought it was in excess of $1 mil. If its only $20k then I agree.

What I find weird about this whole mess is that it might not be even makeable.

HBO might be willing to dish out 3 million tops. I can see why Danny will not be taking 25% of that.

Personally I cannot see how this fight gets done. If it goes to purse bid Showtime might shell out 4 million, and Jacobs still will get a lower purse than he did against Quillin.

A 60/40 split is the only way this fight can get done.

so GGG / K2 / HBO are under some sort of obligation to continue overpaying Jacobs? lol okay........

I say if Jacobs doesnt want the 25%, then fine. He can walk and go fight Mora again on FS1 for 200k...........

Here is the problem-worth is determined by the power you have to negaotiate.

As I just said to New England, Jacobs may not be worth 25% in a normal world. That said, the WBA has ordered them to fight. if it goes to a purse bid, GGG could be put in a position where he has to vacate since it is unlikely HBO will allow him to fight on another network.

So it may be a case of Jacobs just being in the right place at the right time. sort of like how Tim bradley made so much when he 1st signed with TR because Arum desperately needed a name opponent for Manny and didn't want to risk Tim going to another promoter.
