to take that laughable 75-25 and shove it up their asses. They have always been about money and everything else is secondary. Guarrantee that they are not even gonna bother to negotiate cuz they want taht 75-25, which again is laughable.

so lets hear your sales pitch as to why Jacobs deserves more. Was it the half-empty Barclays for his fight with fellow NYer Quillin? Was it the putrid Showtime ratings for that same fight? Or perhaps his recent barn-burner rematch with Mora?

    Cmon, lets hear it.......

Why doesn't Jacob's belt come into play in these negotiations? Is it all weighed around one org's rule? (not arguing, asking because I don't pay attention to the various federations).

Nope. No excuses. Jacobs knew that was the split when he choose to fight for that belt and continue paying his sanctioning fees. Jacobs gotta suck it up.

          mm?

Jacobs is the WBA regular MW champion. (or interim actually...)

It's the WBA who mandated the fight. And it's their rule that the purses are 75-25.

So what's your question? I don't get it. Jacobs belt DOES play a role, he's guaranteed a minimum 25% of the purse because of it, and he's guaranteed the fight or Golovkin has to vacate.

What else do you expect? if he were a draw at least, but it's not even the case.

Having said that... If I was GGG's team I would offer 70-30 or even 65-35 just to have the fight done, which is what GGG needs.

How is the WBA split a surprise for so many on here?

Jacobs has the WBA "regular" and GGG has the WBA "super". The "regular" title is really just a fancy trophy for the #1 contender / mandatory challenger.....

In that case he shouldnt have fought for the WBA and told them to shove it a long time ago. Now he gets the expected split and we will see if he takes the fight or not. If he doesnt its one of the bigger ducks made to to avoid GGG.

I think both parties are being unreasonable if they cant meet closer to the middle. If tghis fight falls through because of a purse split that will be embarrassing for boxing and embarrassing for both fighters, especially if they go on to fight bums.
