You're referring to a slippery slope of what "could" happen in the future. We could all get hit by a comet and die Jan 1st, 2017. Who knows what's going to happen in the future. I'm talking about this fight right here, right now.
Did GGG say he's not a business man? Going by his own testimony, he should have no issue with a 70-30 split for the betterment of boxing and the fans.
Only real life cuckhold fans like yourself would agree and "understand" why this fight shouldn't happen over the bidnessComment

Shouldn't that tell you that K2 is using the purse bid guidelines as leverage. Jacobs has stated that he won't fight for less than $2M. So if K2 is focused on split and not total compensation, the only card Jacobs team can play is to ask the WBA to remove that leverage. It's smart. Will it work, who knows. But at least it's an indication that he actually wants to fight and isn't going to fake real negotiations.Comment

If a sanctioning body breaks there own rules to facilitate a fight we as fans want, isn't that a good thing?Comment

Even if they do break their rules, it still doesn't make sense for Jacobs to want a purse bid. If Jacobs gets 30% of a $5 Million bid (which is a huge bid for this fight) than he ends up with 1.5M, which is what he made again Quillin, and he says he wants more than that. Jacobs would make more money with an actual agreement. Maybe Golovkin gets 3M and Jacobs gets 2M, which is 40%.
The bottom line is, if Jacobs really wants the fight, it will happen. If he doesn't, it won't happen. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and I think it will get made.Comment

… Jacobs: (…) offer me the right money, we can do it this yesterday… they aren’t offering the right money right now…
Q: How much they are offering?
Jacobs: …

If a sanctioning body breaks it's own rules, it Means that they say their rules are worthless. Or worse that their rules are for sale. They are not promotors. They are a sanctioning body.
Imagine if they had a rule stating that a certain level of EPO or stanozolol is allowed and then they would just change the rule to something different for different fights. How would that look? What would happen to their integrity?Comment
