Sturmrules might be one of the few to agree with you.

Howver, I do see you have a case with your last paragraph.

I don't like dela Hoya. But I know he's damn good fighter. He has been known to choose his opponents well, though. He picked Gatti, a lightweight to beef up to welter. Easy pickings. He put one a good show against' Trinidad but got on his bicycle with 4 rounds left. He lost to Whitaker but got the win. He definitely lost to Sturm, but Sturm could arguably have done a little more than just jab all night.

Sturm is the reason why Hoya would never pick a fight with Winky.

I'm no Oscar fan but he's been good for boxing and has had a stellar career and 2 of the losses you listed were disputed and they were great fighters anyway. You can't try to marginalize his victories over some great fighters because they might of lost before,he's a sure fire H of Famer so he coulden't of ******.

Personally I don't care for the guy but he has one of the better resumes of any active fighter.

This is just about the only part of what he said that's true. What he said is true here. Trinidad destroys his opponents when there's alot of contact in the match, just take a look at history. Trinidad ****s his opponents up permanently, Oba Carr, Joppy, Whitaker, Vargas, and Mayorga, u can't say they were the same after fighting Trinidad. All of them, all of them were much worse.

Flawed arguement. Oscar did beat Quartey, Ike was just a top notch fighter and gave his all as well. Very few fighters could dominate a fighter of Quartey's prowess at that time. Oscar bested him.

Though Trinidad got the decision, it could be argued that Oscar was robbed. Personally, I have said that I had Trinidad winning; but went back a rescored it the other night. It was the first time I'd watched the fight in 3 years or so....I had De La Hoya winning by 1....and if he hadn't given the last few rounds away, it would have been a worse spread. Trinidad was exposed in that fight; and Hopkins further enhanced the exposure.

De La Hoya fought a close fight and got a decsion over an all-time great, Pernell Whitaker. Now, I did have Whitaker winning this one; but admit several rounds could have gone either way. Whitaker was still crafty at 33, when he was on.

So, no bullocks about De La Hoya never beating a good fighter...he did. De La Hoy's biggest failing was not keeping up the work against Trinidad and losing to Mosely. That hurts him; but he was competitive with Shane and many say won the rematch.

No need in hating. Oscar is a great fighter.

People will try and tell you that Whitaker was a shell of himself when he fought Oscar which is not true-he was more then crafty...sure he was not in his absolute prime but he was still ranked in the top 5 p4p in the world when they fought.

What Im trying to say is there is absolutely positively no shame in going at it with a guy like Whitaker and winning a close decision that some believe went the wrong way...again Whitaker was one of the very best p4p fighters in the world when he fought Oscar and if you throw aside real bul**** like Whitaker's loss to JL Ramirez then Oscar in my mind was the first guy to legitly beat Sweat Pea.

The Whitaker that fought Tito....now that is a different story.
