De La Hoya has never beaten anyone good. So what he beat Mayorga it was a given.
He beat Mayorga after Trinidad KOd him n destroyed his chin. He KOed Vargas after Vargas was shot by Trinidad. He couldnt beat Trinidad. He couldnt beat Mosely He couldnt beat Hopkins. He couldnt convincgly beat Quartey, or Whitaker or Sturm.
...hes fake just like his pretty boy fake smile.

Mr. LeadLeftHook. What you've just said....is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered anything close to a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

When he first entered the sport he was racking up highly impressive victories such as:

Maromero Paez when he was considered a tough name at the lower weights, and a huge, dangerous, rugged puncher

John John Molina who was an excellent fighter at the time, and was completely stifled by Oscar

Rafael Ruelas....in an unbelieveable performance where Oscar made quick work of him in two rounds. Ruelas was highly regarded at the time also

Gernaro Hernandez.....who was a majory victory for the current P4P number 1 fighter in Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Jesse James Leija who at the time was an excellent fighter although he originally started at lower weights.

Julio Cesar Chavez....all time great who only had 1 loss on his record, and yeah....you could say JCC was past his prime but I still say it was impressive

Miguel Angel Gonzales, undefeated at the time and Oscar fought a brilliant fight.....winning a decision.

Pernell Whittaker....sure people claim Whittaker was robbed, but I don't buy it. Oscar was the effective aggressor and he clearly won the fight

Macho Camacho.....sure you could claim he was past his prime, but he remained a dangerous fighter because of his will.

Wilfredo Rivera.....a durable now journeyman who at the time posed a major threat to top names....and gave Sweet Pea a hell of a fight

Ike Quartey.....who was a total wrecking ball, and possessed (still does) one of the best jabs in the sport. I suppose you could point to that decision and call it a "robbery" but it was a close fight, and the last time I watched it....I scored it in favor of Oscar.

Oba Carr....if any of you know boxing....you'd know that he was an outstanding fighter at the time and Oscar came on strong in the later rounds and really took the fight to him stopping him.

Felix Trinidad.....he was pretty much robbed outright and you need to rewatch the fight if you don't belive that.

Shane Mosley.....he was totally robbed in the second encounter...and if you don't think so, you need to go back and watch the fight

That's outside of the beatdown Mayorga recieved.

It looks like the short bus dropped one of their special kids off at the boxing scene instead of the playground. Turn around short bus, we have a special kid that needs to be taken back home.

LeadLeftHook, are you handicapped in any certain way? Actually his response could be inputed as his answer to this question.

Add to that Gatti and Sturm, also how can a fighter win titles at six weights, have 29 World title fights and not fight world class fighters along the way?
