Same way floyd was number 1 at 147 and 154 at the same time for 2 years. Because he is still lineal at 160 but has now won another title at 154 and has beaten 4 of the top 10 fighters at 154. So what's the problem?

Lineal is only broken when a fighter moves permanently out the division or is beat. Has either occurred with canelo? Also show me a link where Oscar said a fighter would be stripped of lineal? You thinking of wbc belt because that the only thing that could be stripped if they did not fight GGG since he was that belts mandatory. Ring only requires you fight a top ring rated fighter within a period of time. Lineal supercedes all alpha belt soup titles the purpose of it is to be the man you have to beat the man.

You can't strip lineal status do you people even understand what lineal champ even means? Vacating a WBC title has nothing to do with lineal or ring belt. Only way he losing ring belt is if he doesn't fight a top 160 fighter within 2 years I believe. It hasn't even been a year since he won it against cotto last nov.

WBC has NOTHING to do with this. Dropping that belt does nothing to break lineal status or the ring belt. And he never left the division his camp said they dropping to 154 to fight smith but will be moving up to 160 after that hell he is in negotiations to fight GGG at 160 so how the phuk can you strip him of his ring status at 160? I'll say it again Floyd won a title at catch weight 152 to earn top 154 ring status he then fought strictly at 147 for 2 years and still retained his top status at 154 throughout while also holding ranking at 147. Many fighters have bounced between 2 divisions which is why they keep their rankings just like chocalitito still owns ring belt even though he just moved up. If he doesn't go back down after a while he will lose that 112 ranking.

Oscar or ring magazine have no control over lineal status. They only control ring champ status which has NOTHING to do with WBC belt. Show me a link where he said that. Hell Oscar don't even talking about ring ratings so him saying he will strip someone of a ring rating would of made front page news.

Being ranked in 2 weight class at the same time isn't new. He beat lineal and number 1 ring 160 champ Cotto. He was number 1 154 before that as early as last nov. He just beat another top 10 and champ in smith so he retains his number 1 status at 154. Where is the controversy?

I guess GGG and his fans know nothing about this because he has never and will never move up to another weight class. Floyd and Pacman and many others have been ranked in 2 weight class at the same time.

Floyd all last year held 154 ring status even after golden boy split from Floyd the year prior so try again. He lost his status AFTER he announced his retirement. Floyd, chocalitito, canelo all holding multiple rankings at the same time. This is nothing new they have already set the precedent that they will allow a good amount of time before you lose your status. Basically you have to lose or make it 100% known you will never fight in that weight class again. Floyd didn't say that so he kept it, so has chocalitito and canelo is currently in negotiations for fights at 160 and has not said that he won't fight again at 160. His fight with khan technically qualifies as a defense of his 160 ring title and that was just a few months ago.

You guys are grasping at straws this is not new or out of the ordanary.
