If they want 40%, they are ducking the fight imo...golovkin is not a big enough name for 40%...maybe 25, 30 MAX.

So where are all the GayLoveKin fan boys now who say "it's more than he's ever made" when it comes to offers k2 has made that others rejected? I guess it's ok to turn down 10 million plus for a guy who's fought 1 decent name...that happened to be a WW.

Here's the simple truth. Canelo is 26 and proven ppv seller for HBO. Ggg is 34 and not a proven ppv seller. Ggg will never see that type of money ever for the rest of his career which is 3-4 years tops. Canelo is young and has the backing of HBO to sell whatever bs ppv he wants to put on because he brings in mexican fans. Ggg has mexican fans but they don't buy his ppv's. Canelo can wait out Ggg and fight the next big boxing star because time is on his side. Ggg has maybe 2-3 big fights left in his career which will not generate anywhere close to him fighting Canelo. Canelo can literally fight anyone he wants and sell it.

Even if Canelo waits out and fights 3 huge PPV's later on in his career he would still have not earned the money he would have gotten from THIS fight. A $20 mill loss is a $20 mill loss no matter what he earns in later fights.

GGG who can't even get any PPVs from HBO because the one time they tried it bombed wants the same deal pacman got? IF you take a look at the Khan fight where Canelo made 3.5 and gave khan 2, it's basically a 70-30 split for SOMEONE MUCH LESSER THAN GGG.

So how come for a bigger fight, the split is even less?
