Don't write horse manure in broken English and then call someone ******, because you look utterly ridiculous.
Yes, he fought Kovalev way past his prime. That's the point, genius. At 50, he was in a position where he had nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Where were the Kovalev, Calzaghe, Tarver and Dawson type fighters on his resume when he was at MW? They weren't there. Because he wasn't interested in challenging himself before he'd lost to Taylor twice and he had nowhere else to go. He waited 6 years to unify. He spent 14 years in the division. Look at his resume, research his career. He started out at LHW/CW, and fought above MW on numerous occasions, before finally committing to the division when most of the great early 90's MW's had either moved up or retired. There were much better fights for him at SMW and LHW. But he wasn't interested. Bernard would never have fought a Kovalev type fighter when he was in his 30's. He wouldn't fight Roy at a 168 CW in 2002, even though there was nothing else to achieve at MW and it was the biggest fight out there for him with the opportunity to avenge an earlier defeat.
Again, here's a quote from 2008:
"I could have moved up to LHW 6 years earlier had I have wanted to, but I didn't want to give up my advantages"
What type of advantages was he talking about, Einstein? Obviously size. So, he could have moved up to LHW in 2002, yet he wouldn't fight Roy at SMW? Yet here he is telling GG what he should be doing? GTFOH.
My opinion about his actions are based on the above. Again, there's no guarantee Bernard would have fought LHW's at GG's size. A guy with that type of attitude wouldn't have put himself at such a disadvantage. There's a huge difference between a guy at 6'1, with a 75" reach, and a guy at 5'10, with a 70" reach.
Mike has nothing to do with my point for obvious reasons you fool. He was a freak of nature who was a solid 200 pounds plus in his teens. Yes, he had to overcome huge differences in size, but he had a great style, and he could never have fought below CW. Again, my opinion of Bernard is based on his comments and his resume.
If GG fought LHW's, he'd be completely outsized in every department, in a way that Bernard never was. How hard is that to understand?
Regarding GG fighting Brook, I wasn't happy with that. But he was a last minute replacement for Eubank.
If you've nothing of value to add, then don't bother replying.Last edited by robertzimmerman; 09-20-2016, 03:15 AM.

Mission at 160 not completed. Hold your horses Bernard! You were allowed to unify, clean out & operate at 160 til age 40!
-Saunders WBO
-Jacobs mandatory
Golovkin has stated his intention! Allow him to try & achieve it. LHW can wait..

Take a closer look at Bernie's career. Apart from his outstanding longevity, it wasn't that great.
