That would be the fight that would make him the biggest in the biz should he choose to accept it. And he wouldn't risk his reputation if he lost. Dare to be great.
I def agree that a fight with Kovalev would be a legacy fight for both and there really would be no loser. But I think if GGG were to step to light heavyweight it would put pressure on him to fight other guys at that weight and he doesn't want to do it because theres a good chance guys like Stevenson and Beterbiev could KO him. Not because of power but because of the large size.

Well, we saw what Tyson used to do to bigger fighters, so it can be done. And GGG does want to test himself, be in Mexican style warrior fights. So maybe he will break loose and move to LHW eventually. We'll see.

Do you think a fight with Ward would be less impressive even if he beats Kovalev?

Not exactly sure what you mean. If you're asking if a GGG/Ward fight would be less impressive if GGG beats Kovalev, that would probably depend on if Ward had beat Kovalev, which I would assume is what you meant. Assuming all those, IOW GGG would be a big shot having just beaten Kovalev, I'd say GGG/Ward would be a highly anticipated matchup.

LAS VEGAS -- Bernard Hopkins collapsed to his knees in his dressing room, drained from a brutal fight and exhausted by the end of his 17-year wait for revenge against Roy Jones Jr.

Two of their generation's greatest boxers just might have ended their careers together in a Las Vegas hospital Saturday night, but only Hopkins earned the right to leave with a victory...

The rematch was delayed by money and egos until well after most fight fans had stopped salivating for it. Hopkins finally agreed to the bout last year and stuck with it even after Jones lost his previous fight by first-round knockout in Australia last December.

The longtime middleweight champion then unleashed 17 years of frustration on Jones, who repeatedly declined to fight him a decade earlier.

Remind them about that! Jones "repeatedly declined him a decade earlier!"
Sorry mate, but that's complete BS.

            The following links speak volumes:

Bernard Hopkins has no interest in staging a rematch with Roy Jones Jr. He sat ringside at New York's Madison Square Garden and watched Jones take a beating at the hands of Joe Calzaghe. Jones won a decision over Hopkins fifteen-years ago and there was hope by both that a rematch could happen at some point in 2009, but the rematch was riding on a Jones win. Hopkins thought Jones looked terrible, old and feels that retirement is in order.

Another generation has grown up since Jones won the vacant IBF middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Hopkins on the undercard of a defense by heavyweight champion Rid**** Bowe at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

Jones won the fight despite a right hand that was "pretty much fractured," he said. He went on to become arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter of the 1990s, with a grace and multisport athleticism that landed him everything from a Nike deal to movie roles.

Hopkins took a harder road, just as he's done throughout an adulthood that began with nearly five years in prison. He won the middleweight title in 1995 and defended it a record 20 times before evolving into one of the world's most versatile fighters in his 40s, trouncing Antonio Tarver, Winky Wright and Kelly Pavlik in recent years after a brief retirement.

Bernard shrunk himself down to fight in a weak MW division when there were better fights at SMW and LHW.

He was happy to wait 6 years to unify.

He spent 14 years in the division.

He only moved up in his 40's when he'd lost twice to Taylor.

He admitted in 2008 that he could have moved up to LHW 6 years earlier had he have wanted to.

                He ducked Roy in 2002.

                **** Bernard.

                He's a hypocrite.

Take a closer look at Bernie's career. Apart from his outstanding longevity, it wasn't that great.
GGG-a-y is 5"10 with a 70" reach agree .your analogy is fkn ******ed ,Mike Tyson is 5"10 with a 71" reach and knocking out 6"3,6"5 dudes with 82" reach.Acording to your ******ed analogy Mike should of never been fighting heavyweights couse of his height and reach.the triple GGG fans aka the GGG-a-y-tards are the new pac-t-a-r-d -s.yup that explains why triple GGG-a-y is bringing up ww's to fight riiight.next up for GGG-a-y he will be calling out chocolatito lol.(borat voice) Mexican style!!!!

                    What are you talking about?

                    Speak English.

                    There was no an*logy.

In my honest opinion, Bernard would never have fought at LHW had he been GG's size. That's what I believe due to how he's handled himself throughout the years.

Why does somebody have to be a tard/fan boy if they say something that doesn't fit your agenda?

You come across like an emotional infant.
