Every PBC Saturday afternoon broadcast last year did over a million views and Spence did 6 million this year.
hmm thats nice but how much did spence make? 250k. ggg just made 5 million. isnt the point of boxing to make money? could have swore floyd fans used to say that. why would he go to broke as a joke pbc and fight for 2 dollars?

I need an option C, neither. I'm sick of exclusive network deals, fighters should be able to fight wherever the money and competition are at. That is why I hope GGG tells HBO to go **** themselves when his deal is up. Any network would drool to have GGG fight for them. He should just fight on whatever network on a fight by fight basis. Free market *****es.

GGG is one of the top 3 faces in boxing right now like it or not. The fact that not many people watch boxing is more a black eye on the sport itself honestly. Take away that amazing spence number after the olympics and all the numbers stink..

UFC has just taken boxing over and there's no coming back. Take it for what it is, enjoy it and carry on the hate..

Judging by internet trends, his popularity amongst casuals and his fight purses, I'd definitely say his drawing power is increasing. Two years ago vs. Rubio, Golovkin's purse was 900k. Last year vs. Lemieux, it was 2m. This year vs. Brook, the rumoured number is 5-6m.

You can also see how he compares to Canelo. He's about ~1/4 as popular (and rising) when they fight, and enjoys similar popularity during rest periods.

It could take years to make boxing a mainstream sport again. So I say the answer is no.
