"Jacobs seems like a sincerely nice dude.
But this ends badly."
"It might end badly for old Geritol G.."
I see it being one of the better GGG fights. More like the Martin Murray fight, may go 10-12. I just don't see Jacobs being able to keep up physically with the constant pressure

The WBA has to tell Jacobs to step to it: fight GGG for whatever the purse bid offers, because that regular belt you're holding is being decommissioned in January.

He has to be realistic on what he earns for this fight. I don't know what Golovkin made v Brook but before that i'm sure his highest purse was around $3m or a bit less. If that's the case, Jacobs can't realistically get much more than $1.5m.

Here is the thing right now Jacobs has a bit of leverage because he can basically do whatever he is not exactly tied down so he can use that position to get a good deal for himself because purse bid is a crap shoot.
He can't be crazy because he should know what his side will pay for a purse bid so 25% of that is his minimum if they get outbid then that is better for him. However Golovkin side will also want to avoid a bid which can be a mess for their side as well. So Jacobs should play his hand fairly strong currently because he has some cards because Golovkin will not want to bring being forced to give up the WBA strap into play.
If Jacobs comes crazy and refuses to play ball it will just go to purse bid, then if that bid is low he probably walks. All this will be sorted out soon because if they see no hope they will call for a bid right away.
